Here is the last call to the 17th Annual Chinatown Community Foundation (CCF) Golf Tournament, taking place on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the beautiful Hoakalei Country Club in Ewa Beach!


Join us for a memorable day of friendly competition, community spirit, and meaningful support for CCF’s mission — to enhance education, celebrate Chinese culture, promote civic engagement, and revitalize the Downtown and Chinatown communities.

PBN News: Hawaii bank CEO elected to Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines board

Russell Lau, chairman and CEO of Honolulu-based Finance Factors Ltd.has been elected to serve a second consecutive four-year term representing Hawaii on the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines’ board of directors.


Lau previously served on the FHLB Des Moines board from 2015 to 2017, and before that, served on the board of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle from 2005 to 2015.

Due to Federal Housing Finance Authority regulations, Lau was not eligible to serve another term until 2022, when he was elected again to serve a four-year term. He will start his second term on Jan. 1.


Avalon Group President and CEO Christine Camp represented Hawaii for one term on the FHLB board after Lau, from 2018 to 2022.


Heather Piper, president and CEO of Hawaii Community Reinvestment Corp., also represents Hawaii on the FHLB Des Moines advisory council.


Lau has been the chairman and CEO of Finance Factors, which is a minority depository FDIC insured institution, since 1998 and has served as president and CEO of its parent, Finance Enterprises Ltd., since 2004. He is also chairman and CEO of the independent insurance agency subsidiary Finance Insurance Ltd., and chairman and CEO of real estate investment and management companies Finance Realty Ltd., and Waipono Inc.

Bryan Luke has served as president and CEO of Hawaii National Bank since 2019, leading the institution through a period of strong growth and modernization. Under his leadership, the bank’s gross revenue increased by 68% from 2021 to 2024. The third generation of the family to lead Hawaii National Bank, Luke has transformed the institution’s branding, marketing, digital services and branch network, while maintaining its longstanding commitment to supporting locally owned businesses. Employees under his tenure have shown remarkable loyalty, with some retiring after decades of service. His strategic foresight and deep understanding of finance have positioned Hawaii National Bank as a trusted partner for entrepreneurs and small businesses across the state.

Bryan has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii since 2008.
