The Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii, in partnership with City & County of Honolulu, community organizations, businesses, and volunteers, invites you to participate in our Annual Chinatown Community Cleanup on Saturday, August 22, 2026.
Date: Saturday, August 22, 2026
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Location: Honolulu Chinatown (check-in at Mechanics Bank)
For the past several years, hundreds of volunteers have come together to help beautify and improve Honolulu's historic Chinatown. Last year's cleanup was a tremendous success, with volunteers from local businesses, community organizations, schools, government agencies, and neighborhood groups working side-by-side to remove litter, clean sidewalks, beautify public spaces, and demonstrate community pride.
This annual event is part of the Chamber's ongoing commitment to supporting a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming Chinatown for residents, merchants, employees, and visitors. As Chinatown continues its revitalization efforts, volunteer participation remains critical to preserving the neighborhood's unique cultural heritage and improving the visitor experience.
Volunteers will be assigned to teams and deployed throughout Chinatown and nearby areas, including parks, sidewalks, public gathering spaces, and key business corridors. Cleanup supplies, tools, gloves, and safety instructions will be provided.
For more information or to register as a volunteer, please contact the Chinese Chamber office at (808) 533-3181 or email info@chinesechamber.com.
We look forward to serving alongside you on August 22! Many hands make light work—join us and help make Chinatown shine!
