Event Report: General Membership Meeting

(Photos provided by Chamber Past President Dennis Hwang)

The Chinese Chamber successfully held its first General Membership Meeting of the 2025–2026 fiscal year at the beautiful President’s Hall, with close to 50 members in attendance.

Chamber President Gabe Lee opened the evening by welcoming members. Vice President Cy Feng introduced the officers, past presidents, Young Professionals, 75th Narcissus Queen Alycia Abordonado and the new members. Committee chairs presented updates on ongoing projects and shared upcoming plans for the year.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of a certificate of recognition to Ms. Lovina Abdi, recipient of the Chinatown Community Foundation’s 2024 Education Scholarship, in honor of her outstanding academic achievements. The scholarship was funded by proceeds from the 2024 Golf Tournament, reflecting the Chamber’s ongoing commitment to supporting education and community development.

To encourage networking, attendees participated in a fun “speed-date” style activity that helped members connect and learn more about each other. The game helped members to strengthen relationships and reaffirm the Chamber’s mission of supporting members' personal and business growth.

Special thanks to Membership Committee Chair Cy Feng, Advisor Dennis Hwang, Vice President Rena Hwang, and committee members Wen Yen and Waymond Ngai for their dedication and hard work in organizing this successful and enjoyable event.
