Chinese New Year - The Year of the Metal Ox
We love this time of year.
Not only is it Chinese New Year - but we also get to feature so many talented authors, consultants, and members writers of the IFSG. Observed worldwide, Chinese New Year is historically a 15-day festival celebrating the beginning of a new year on the Chinese calendar. Traditions include special meals and family reunions, beautiful decorations, a thorough cleaning, to sweep out the old of the past year and invite the new energy of the coming year - abundance, health, relationships, family - and of course red envelopes and lanterns. Feng Shui comes into play while considering the Chinese zodiac, the five elements and especially the energy of the coming year.

Read on for the best-of-the-best...tips, resources, and what you can do to prepare, embrace, and maximize the Year of the Ox!
"2021 is a metal or golden ox year. The strongest elements are earth-metal-water, which relate to the colours yellow/brown-white/gold silver-black/navy blue. The missing elements are Wood (Green) and Fire (red pink and purple). To bring all five elements into your life in 2021, make sure you include some wood/green and fire/red pink and purple in your clothes, shoes, and accessories. The metal or gold ox is about moving steadily forwards;and is a creature which is capable of sharp thinking. Think carefully and plot and plan before you make a maneuvre."

Back to the Future: Metal Oxen Past and Present
From Richard Ashworth, When Zhou En Lai, perhaps Mao’s closest aide, was asked the repercussions of the French Revolution, he replied: “Far too soon to tell.” This is a hint perhaps; over the years I have concluded that to get a bead on the coming year, we may need to delve as deeply into history as into the ramifications of the 5 Yellow and Three Calamities. So much history and clarity in this brilliant article from Richard.

Final Thoughts - Your Chinese Astrology Lucky Charm
From Jillian Rothschild-Scholar, owner of Feng Shui in Motion and BaZi expert
One of the biggest challenges with getting anything accomplished is not only having the right luck but knowing how to optimize opportunities in a way that leads you to the desired outcome. This can be a real struggle for many people.

The Ox is a Nobleman for those born on a Day or Year of Yang Wood (ex. 1974), Yang Earth (ex. 1968), or Yang Metal (ex. 1960). That means any of the years ending in 4, 8, or 0 are included, too. Lucky you!
