Chocolate and Modern Slavery
The cocoa industry generates over 130 billion dollars a year. So then why do companies like Hershey and Nestle still use exploitative child labor? Why, after admitting to it, do they continue to utilize it?

We'd like to invite you to join the Peace and Justice Center on October 28th at 6-8pm for a special program: Chocolate and Modern Slavery. The program will be held on zoom, so you can join from anywhere!

With holidays coming up, it is important to know the horrific reality behind a lot of major chocolate companies. During this program, you'll learn how the cocoa industry's lack of accountability on a global scale, and how wealth distribution practices perpetuate generational poverty and enable modern slavery. The goal is to not only educate but to inspire you to take action in a variety of ways that fit your lifestyle.

Fair trade chocolate to enjoy during the virtual event.
