Dear Cholla Residents,

Based on input from the community, as well as engineering and cost considerations, the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) project team has selected "Alternative 3" for the 75th Avenue/67th Avenue Ramp Widening and Extended 75th Avenue On-Ramp project and is moving forward with final design of the interchange. More details are available here on the project web page. 

ADOT received input on the interchange concepts from more than 1,500 community members who overwhelmingly indicated a preference for "Alternative 3". To review the community input received on the alternatives, you can view the Community Outreach Summary, which includes all the comments and responses from the project team to frequently asked questions. The estimated cost of construction on Alternative 3 is approximately $12 million - the least expensive of the three alternatives. Final design and construction of the 75th Avenue interchange improvements will occur in conjunction with the planned Loop 101 general purpose lane widening project between 75th Avenue and Interstate 17, which is currently expected to begin in late 2023 or early 2024.

What’s next? The ADOT project team will develop design plans for the Loop 101 widening project from 75th Avenue to Interstate 17. ADOT anticipates holding a public meeting in late summer or fall to share the design plans once they are available. ADOT will notify the community as soon as the meeting has been scheduled.

  • Streets between Beardsley Road and Deer Valley Road, between 67th Avenue and 75th Avenue – Slurry Seal application is currently taking place.

  • Streets between Bell Road and Union Hills Drive, between 51st Avenue and 55th Avenue – Latex Modified Surface Seal (LMSS) application is currently taking place.

  • Streets between Grovers Avenue and Union Hills Drive, between 55th Avenue and 59th Avenue – Slurry Seal application to begin May 19.

  • Streets between Union Hills Drive and Beardsley Road, between 59th Avenue and 67th Avenue - Latex Modified Surface Seal (LMSS) application to begin May 24.

  • 79th Avenue, Bell Road to Union Hills Drive – Utilities to be pre-lowered May 24 – 25 to prepare for the Thin Mill and Overlay to begin May 26.
  • Behrend Drive, east of 59th Avenue – Slurry Seal application to take place during night time hours June 11.
  • 64th Drive, Union Hills Drive to Sack Drive – Slurry Seal application to take place late June.
  • Sack Drive, 64th Drive to 67th Avenue – Slurry Seal application to take place late June.

  • Parkside Lane, 67th Avenue to 61st Drive – Slurry Seal application to take place late June.
  • 65th Lane, Parkside Lane to Pinnacle Peak Road – Slurry Seal application to take place late June.
