Dear Cholla Residents,
I could not be more pleased to share that deployment of 146 Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to every Glendale Police patrol vehicle is now complete. This will undoubtedly save lives and the entire process from approval to deployment was expedited for that reason.
This represents a vital enhancement to our community’s emergency response infrastructure. Recognizing that every second is crucial during cardiac emergencies, equipping police vehicles with AEDs empowers our officers to deliver immediate, life-saving care—bridging the critical gap until advanced medical services are on scene.
A huge thank you to the Glendale PD leadership team for thinking outside the box when it comes to the safety of residents, city management for making this a priority, BHS Legacy Foundation, AEDEverywhere and Stryker!
E-Bike News
Many of you have contacted me about the 13 year old Mountain Ridge High School student that was critically injured after being hit by a driver while riding an Electric Bike to school on August 1.
Those who I have spoken to are aware that I have been pressing the City Attorney and Public Safety Director for an E-Bike Ordinance for months and am pleased to share that a proposed ordinance will be presented to council at the August 12 workshop.
I am hopeful there will be a consensus of the council to move this forward, and for the ordinance to be placed on the voting agenda at the August 26 meeting where I believe it will be adopted.
As always, please feel free to reach out with your questions and concerns.
I value your input and feedback.
