Dear Cholla Residents,

October is Domestic Violence Awareness month. The City of Glendale wants anyone experiencing domestic violence to know that you are not alone and that we have confidential resources available. There will be an informative workshop held at the Glendale Main Library Thursday, October 28 at 11 am. Please see the flyer below for more information and a list of resources available. If you are in immediate danger, please call 911. In addition to emergency response, Glendale also offers family advocacy services that you can connect with by calling 623-930-3720. Domestic violence shelter assistance is also available. You can connect with those services by calling 1-800-799-7739.
 
Additionally, we are now taking reservations for our December 2nd district meeting that will be held at Foothills Recreation and Aquatic Center (FRAC - 5600 W. Union Hills Dr) at 5:30pm. The topic of the meeting will be - Glendale Water Resources Update Including Tier 1 Colorado River Shortage. Glendale's Water Services Department will be making the presentation. This will be a more traditional meeting with a presentation and question/answer period at the end. Food will be served boxed lunch dinner style for your convenience. Please RSVP below if you haven't already.

Cholla District Pavement Management & Construction Updates
  • 55th Avenue, between Grovers Avenue and Michigan Avenue – Crack sealing to take place mid-December to prepare for a Latex Modified Surface Seal application later in this year’s program.
  • Denaro Drive and Matilda Lane, south of Arrowhead Clubhouse Drive – Crack sealing to take place mid-December to prepare for a Latex Modified Surface Seal application later in this year’s program. 
  • Union Hills Drive, between 75th Avenue and 83rd Avenue – Crack sealing to take place mid-December to prepare for a Polymer Modified Surface Seal application later in this year’s program.
  • 75th Avenue, Bell Road to Loop 101 – Crack sealing to take place mid-December to prepare for a Polymer Modified Surface Seal application later in this year’s program.
The Arizona Department of Transportation will be closing the Loop 101 on-ramps at the locations listed below on October 25th and 26th, 2021. The closures are planned to begin at 9:00 PM with the on-ramps re-opening no later than 5:00 AM.
 
The purpose of these closures is to perform upgrades to the ramp meters at the traffic interchanges. These upgrades will be a part of the ramp adaptive system. The upgraded system will be able to adjust the green time at the ramp meters based on the actual traffic conditions on the freeway.
 
During these times, traffic will be detoured around the closures. Portable dynamic message signs will be placed to inform motorists of the ramp closures. The work is scheduled at the locations shown below:

Mountain Ridge Baseball Event

There will be a Mountain Ridge Baseball Golf Tournament to benefit Mountain Ridge Baseball on December 4, 2021.

It will be a great day of golf at the beautiful Hillcrest Golf Course in Sun City West, AZ (www.hillcrestgolfclub.com). The event will include a 4-person scramble, lunch, raffle prizes and awards reception following the golf. Registration will begin at 7am with an 8am start time. There will be opportunities for raffle prizes, mulligans, hole in one contests, Super Bowl squares and more! All benefitting the Mountain Ridge Baseball Program!
