Thunderbird Conservation Park (TCP) Parking Lot Restoration

Parks staff recently completed the parking lot restoration project at Thunderbird Conservation Park for the parking lot off 67th Avenue to reduce the dust level.

The process included re-grading the entrance off 67th Ave., removing the loose debris and unwanted material, and then applying a binding material called “Gorilla Snot” in multiple layers to help suppress dust when vehicles are entering and exiting the parking lot. The lot was also re-lined and re-striped.

2021 G.A.I.N. (Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods) Fall Fest

Mark your calendars, save the date and plan on joining us in celebrating Neighborhood Watch and the success of crime prevention through community involvement. G.A.I.N. or Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods is a statewide event that is the result of a joint effort between government and community driven organizations to improve local participation and partnerships among neighborhoods, police, fire and businesses to reduce crime and increase public safety awareness.

This year, on November 6th the City of Glendale invites neighborhoods, businesses, civic groups and local officials to join us for the G.A.I.N. Fall Fest event at one central location, designed to show support, create new/positive relationships in the community and motivate leaders to go out and promote cooperative, police/community crime prevention efforts.

Following the event, we encourage the community to go back to their neighborhoods to share information, promote safety and awareness of community issues, increase neighborhood communication, and send the message to criminals that they are organized and fighting back!
