Dear Cholla Residents,

Glendale Az Sister Cities is planning Kickoff Oktoberfest on September 19 where they will introduce a very special guest. Memmingen’s Original Bavarian Brass Band will travel all the way to Glendale, Az. to celebrate Oktoberfest with us!

This year, Glendale AZ Sister Cities is recognizing Memmingen’s 49 years of friendship and loyalty to Glendale, and we look forward to further strengthening this relationship with many more years of friendship and cultural exchange. This will be great opportunity to celebrate with a real German Barvarian band, indulge in all things Oktoberfest and make some new friends.

I plan to attend and hope you can too!

STREETS/PAVEMENT MANAGEMENT UPDATE

Loop 101 widening project from 75th Avenue to I-17

Reminder-Long-term ramp closures begin Aug. 4 and 11

• The westbound Loop 101 off-ramp at 67th Avenue will be closed beginning 11:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4, for approximately 60 days.
• DETOUR: Drivers may exit at 59th Avenue and use the frontage road (Beardsley Road) or Union Hills Drive to reach 67th Avenue.
• The westbound Loop 101 on-ramp at 59th Avenue will be closed beginning 11:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, for approximately 60 days.
• DETOUR: Drivers may use the westbound frontage road (Beardsley Road) or Union Hills Drive to 67th avenue to reach westbound Loop 101.

Glendale Pavement Management Activity

• Streets between Union Hills Drive and Beardsley Road, and between 75^th Avenue and the Loop 101 – Crack sealing to take place in late Summer/Fall to prepare for a Latex Modified Surface Seal (LMSS) application to take place later in the program.
