Cholla District Weekly Update

Dear Cholla Residents,

They City of Glendale recently launched a new Citywide Resident Survey, partnering with Polco to collect feedback on city services, facilities, and policies. Participation is open now through August 22 and takes about 17–18 minutes to complete. It's available to everyone and covers topics like parks, public safety, libraries, and more

Your input is valuable and will be used to help establish city priorities in the future.

Please note that once you have answered the questions, you will be asked to provide your email and zip code. This is optional, however, registering will help ensure that we are hearing from each person only once. It will assist in identifying whether respondents live inside or outside of Glendale. Additionally, the City hopes to continually engage with the community and periodically ask for your input on pressing topics, new ideas and initiatives, or other important issues.

STREETS/PAVEMENT MANAGEMENT UPDATE

Loop 101 widening project from 75th Avenue to I-17

UPDATE: Eastbound Loop 101 ramp to I-17 in north Phoenix scheduled to be closed Aug. 15-28

• The eastbound Loop 101 ramps to I-17 will be closed for approximately two weeks for pavement work, from 12:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15, through 5 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29.
• DETOUR: Drivers may consider exiting at 35th Avenue and using Deer Valley Road to reach northbound I-17 or Union Hills Drive to reach southbound I-17. 
• NOTE: The eastbound Loop 101 ramps to I-17 will continue to be narrowed to one lane through the beginning of the ramp closures the morning of Aug. 15.

Overnight closure of 51st Avenue at Loop 101

• NEW: 51st Avenue at Loop 101 will be closed nightly beginning 10 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, and ending 5 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15.

Reminder-Long-term ramp closures begin Aug. 4 and 11

• The westbound Loop 101 off-ramp at 67th Avenue was closed beginning 11:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4, for approximately 60 days.
• DETOUR: Drivers may exit at 59th Avenue and use the frontage road (Beardsley Road) or Union Hills Drive to reach 67th Avenue.
• The westbound Loop 101 on-ramp at 59th Avenue was closed beginning 11:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, for approximately 60 days.
• DETOUR: Drivers may use the westbound frontage road (Beardsley Road) or Union Hills Drive to 67th avenue to reach westbound Loop 101.

Glendale Pavement Management Activity

• Streets between Union Hills Drive and Beardsley Road, and between 75^th Avenue and the Loop 101 – Crack sealing to take place in late Summer/Fall to prepare for a Latex Modified Surface Seal (LMSS) application to take place later in the program.
