Dear Cholla Residents,
I am happy to share that the "Interim" title has been removed and Colby Brandt has been named Glendale's Police Chief.
Chief Colby Brandt is a 28 year veteran of the Glendale Police Department. He previously served as the Administrative Services Commander, overseeing training, personnel, budget, grants, audits, and research functions.
Chief Brandt’s prior roles include Patrol Officer, Property Crimes Detective, Auto Theft Detective, Patrol Sergeant, Neighborhood Response Squad Sergeant, Patrol Lieutenant, General Investigations Lieutenant and Gateway Patrol Commander.
Chief Brandt, a second-generation law enforcement officer, joined the Glendale Police Department in 1997. He is deeply committed to officer development, building regional partnerships and advancing public safety. His current priorities include strengthening traffic safety through enhanced speed enforcement tools and ensuring Glendale remains a safe and welcoming place for residents and visitors.
“I’m honored to lead the exceptional men and women of the Glendale Police Department and serve the community where I was born and raised,” said Chief Brandt. “I’ve had incredible mentors throughout my career who have prepared me to lead us into the future, and I’m grateful for the continued support of my wife and family, our elected officials, city management and community.”
I am incredibly proud of our police department and the fact the the last four chiefs appointed have been internal promotions. That indicates a healthy department that believes in providing growth and leadership opportunities to serve our city.
As always, please feel free to reach out with your questions and concerns.
I value your input and feedback.
