Cholla District Pavement Management & Construction Updates |
|
- Streets between Beardsley Road and Deer Valley Road, between 67th Avenue and 75th Avenue –Slurry Seal application is currently taking place.
- Streets between Bell Road and Union Hills Drive, between 51st Avenue and 55th Avenue – Latex Modified Surface Seal (LMSS) application is currently taking place.
- Streets between Union Hills Drive and Beardsley Road, between 59th Avenue and 67th Avenue - Latex Modified Surface Seal (LMSS) application to begin May 24.
- 79th Avenue, Bell Road to Union Hills Drive – Utilities to be pre-lowered May 24 – 25 to prepare for the Thin Mill and Overlay to begin May 26.
- Behrend Drive, east of 59th Avenue – Slurry Seal application to take place during night time hours June 11.
- 64th Drive, Union Hills Drive to Sack Drive – Slurry Seal application to take place late June.
- Sack Drive, 64th Drive to 67th Avenue – Slurry Seal application to take place late June.
- Parkside Lane, 67th Avenue to 61st Drive – Slurry Seal application to take place late June.
- 65th Lane, Parkside Lane to Pinnacle Peak Road – Slurry Seal application to take place late June.
- Streets between Grovers Avenue and Union Hills Drive, between 55th Avenue and 59th Avenue – Slurry Seal application to take place in July.

Recruiting Lifeguards!
WHO: anyone at least 15 years old can apply for lifeguard; swim instructor applicants must be at least 16 years old
WHAT: the city of Glendale is looking to fill temporary aquatics lifeguard and swim instructor positions
WHERE: Glendale’s two aquatics centers are located at 5600 W. Union Hills Dr. (Foothills) and 5003 W. Marlette Ave. (Rose Lane)
WHEN: Potential employees must be available during the entire aquatics season starting in early May 2021 through early September 2021. Some pools may remain open during evening hours and on weekends through Labor Day weekend. Click here for more details.

Billie Eilish Coming to Gila River Arena
Following the release of her latest single ‘Your Power,’ and ahead of the July 30 release of her forthcoming album ‘Happier Than Ever,’ Darkroom/Interscope Records artist Billie Eilish has announced the first leg of her Happier Than Ever, The World Tour, set to commence in February 2022. The tour will stop at Gila River Arena on Saturday, April 2, 2022.
Starting February 3 in New Orleans, the 32-date North American arena run will be making stops across North America, before heading across the Atlantic for an 18-date arena tour across Europe and the United Kingdom, starting June 3. Remaining tickets will go on-sale Friday, May 28, 12pm local in the U.S and Canada, and 10am local in the United Kingdom and Europe. To ensure tickets get in to the hands of fans, the tour has partnered with Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan platform in North America. Fans can register now through Sunday, May 23 at 11:59pm PT here for the Verified Fan presale. Registered fans who receive a code will have access to purchase tickets before the general public on Wednesday, May 26 at 12pm local time through 10pm local time.
