Dear Cholla Residents,
You may have already noticed, and I am pleased to share that The City of Glendale shifted our entire digital platform to .gov effective August 26. No need to worry, if you use .com you will be automatically redirected to gov.
As a member of the National League of Cities Information, Technology and Communications Committee, I was aware of warnings issued by US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency(CISA), a component of the US Homeland Security Agency and have been advocating for this change for several years.
CISA manages the .gov top-level domain and has established a robust process to verify that only official U.S.-based government organizations can register these domains.
It was something that could not be implemented overnight and our IT staff has been working diligently on this transition and other changes to protect the city from cyber attacks as well as your personal information from cyber predators.
In addition to the .gov change a new, more user friendly platform for the City of Glendale website was also launched on August 26.
You can check out the updated website Here
As always, please feel free to reach out with your questions and concerns.
I value your input and feedback.
