Dear Cholla Residents,
Last week the city of Glendale was honored with the “Best City for Business” award by the Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry. This recognition is awarded annually to a single city that, according to the Chamber, has gone above and beyond to enhance the state’s global competitiveness and advance the priorities of our business community.
The Chamber’s unanimous vote for Glendale reflects the city’s commitment to strong economic development efforts, building and fostering strategic business partnerships and by creating a business friendly environment that understands time is money, has strategically removed red tape and fostered positive relationships with the business community.
“Glendale has shown what it means to be a pro-growth, pro-business city,” said Danny Seiden, President and CEO of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry. “From attracting new investment to supporting existing employers, Glendale continues to make smart decisions that drive jobs and long-term economic growth. We’re proud to recognize them as our 2025 Best City for Business.”
Thank you to the Arizona Chamber of Commerce for honoring The City of Glendale with this prestigious award!
Additionally, at the June 10 council meeting, the 2026-2026 Fiscal Year Budget was approved unanimously. The adopted budget totals $1.46 billion. That is a 1% decrease over the prior year’s budget (FY24-25) of $1.48 billion. This includes an operating budget of $710 million, a capital improvement plan (CIP) budget of $478 million, a debt service budget of $115 million, and a contingency budget of $157 million.
Overall, the goal of the FY25-26 budget is to align the city's budget with its strategic plan, to ensure resource allocation is aligned with council priorities throughout the entire organization. The Resolution and Exhibit A in the below link contain additional information regarding the budget including the schedules required to be adopted in accordance with state statute.
