Cholla District Pavement Management & Construction Updates
  • Streets between Union Hills Drive and Beardsley Road, between 59th Avenue and 67th Avenue – Latex Modified Surface Seal (LMSS) application is currently taking place.
  • Pinnacle Peak Road, east of 67th Avenue – Slurry Seal application to begin July 7.
  • Streets between Grovers Avenue and Union Hills Drive, between 55th Avenue and 59th Avenue – Slurry Seal application to begin July 15.

Fireworks for the 4th at Westgate Entertainment District

Enjoy fireworks and food on Sunday, July 4 at the Westgate Entertainment District. There will be dinner deals, live music, and a display of fireworks!

GLENDALE INDEPENDENCE DAY HOLIDAY NOTICE
City Office Hours and Schedule Changes

City of Glendale offices will be closed Monday, July 5, 2021, in observance of the Independence Day holiday. City offices will reopen Tuesday, July 6.

All residential garbage, recycling and bulk trash collection services will take place as usual on all regularly scheduled collection days throughout the holiday week. The Glendale Municipal Landfill and the Solid Waste customer service office will be closed July 5 in observance of the holiday. Only GUS Bus One will run July 5, operating on the Sunday schedule, between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. No same-day Dial-a-Ride service will be available July 5. ADA service will be available and based on a holiday fixed-route schedule. Dial-A-Ride reservations for the Independence Day weekend must be made by noon, Friday, July 2. Valley Metro bus and rail will operate on Sunday schedules on July 4 and 5. There will be no Express or RAPID service on Monday, July 5 and Valley Metro Customer Service will be closed. The Glendale Municipal Airport will remain open during the holiday, however, the airport’s administrative offices will be closed.

Glendale Public Libraries will be closed July 5, along with the Visit Glendale offices. All Glendale Library Branches will reopen at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 6.

The splash pads at Heroes Regional Park and O’Neil Park will be open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Rose Lane Aquatics Center opens for the season July 6. The Aquatics Center at Foothills Recreation Center is now closed for the season. The Glendale Community Center and Glendale Adult Center will be closed July 5 and reopen Tuesday July 6.
