NCC Machinist Program Creates Local Career Pathways

Nashua Community College is continuing its partnership with SENEDIA for a free Precision Manufacturing Boot Camp after a successful pilot over the summer.

The Machinist Pipeline Program is a 10-week, hands-on training program to prepare participants for entry-level CNC and machinist positions. Students receive stipends and other financial support during the training thanks to MY TURN, an organization funded through the New Hampshire Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) that serves economically, socially, and educationally disadvantaged communities and connects participants with workforce recruitment, education, preparation, and placement services.

Graduates from the initial cohort developed workplace skills and technical competencies that prepared them to begin rewarding careers, as well as soft skills and professional connections that will support their ongoing professional development. The graduates were offered jobs with area companies.

MCC Celebrates 10th Anniversary of Veterans Center with New Look and Amenities

Mere steps from the main entrance to Manchester Community College sits a welcoming reprieve for the school’s Veteran students. For ten years, MCC has offered a Veterans Center for those who have served our country and are now on a new mission to advance their education.

Today the Center has a new look and feel thanks to the generous donation of time and resources from the Red River Charitable Foundation and Financial Strategies Retirement Partners to help fully renovate this dedicated space for veterans and their families. Several volunteers from both Red River and Financial Strategies Retirement Partners spent the summer months transforming the space into its new look. The Center received a complete overhaul, with all new furniture, new amenities like a coffee bar, office supplies and a printer station, and adorning the main wall of the center are the insignias of every major branch of our nation’s military.
