Manchester Community College hosts robotics competition
More than 80 elementary, middle and high school students and mentors from around New Hampshire and Vermont united at Manchester Community College recently for the 2021-2022 VEX Robotics Competition game, Tipping Point. More than 40 teams from schools around the region competed in a series of back-to-back robotics challenges, with the goal of advancing to the VEX World Championship this spring.
NHTI–Concord’s Community College helps career changers become licensed to teach in critical shortage areas
NHTI’s innovative teacher preparation program, offered in partnership with the NH Department of Education, is geared toward those who would like to become a licensed teacher or obtain an additional teacher licensure in the sciences, including computer science, mathematics, general special education, and English for Speakers for other Languages (ESOL). NHTI is the only community college in New England to offer a teacher licensure program.
Program helps aspiring entrepreneurs
River Valley Community College, in partnership with Sullivan County, the city of Claremont, The Claremont Makerspace, and the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is seeking applicants for a new program to support local microbusinesses and aspiring entrepreneurs. The program is called CO.STARTERS and will provide guidance, support, and resources to get a business off the ground.
LRCC partners with area construction companies to train incumbent workforce
Lakes Region Community College is working with Pike Industries, a NH-based construction company within CRH Americas Materials, and affiliated companies Tilcon and PJ Keating to provide workforce development. Training will focus on essential workplace skills, customer service, and technology-based instruction to help the employers with professional development needs.
