WMCC receives $200,000 donation from Milton CAT for Littleton expansion
Milton CAT, a heavy equipment machine and engine distributor, has made a $200,000 gift in support of White Mountains Community College’s Littleton Academic Center, building upon a decades-long partnership and propelling the expansion project forward. WMCC's plans to increase educational and training programs at the Littleton Academic Center are designed to help meet current and future workforce needs in the North Country by growing high-demand programs, improving access, increasing regional recruitment and deepening community integration. Groundbreaking for the academic center expansion is planned for this May.
Fall Mountain Regional High School and RVCC partner to offer health care program
Fall Mountain Regional High School, in partnership with River Valley Community College, is launching “The Business of Healthcare,” an innovative one-year certification program in medical administrative assistance. The course is offered through River Valley Community College’s Running Start program, which enables high school students to take community college courses for credit during the student’s school day, with instruction typically provided on the high school campus.
MCC selected by Amazon as an education partner for Career Choice program
The future just got a little brighter for the many local residents who work for Amazon. As of 2022, Amazon will be fully covering tuition at Manchester Community College through Amazon’s Career Choice program, available to hourly full-time and part-time employees who have worked at Amazon for at least 90 days.
GBCC hosts SkillsUSA NH contest
Great Bay Community College was one of 12 contest sites hosting students as part of the annual SkillsUSA NH competition happening throughout the month of March. SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization serving teachers, middle school, high school and college students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations.
LRCC announces new scholarship opportunity for students interested in hospitality
Through a partnership with Granite United Way, Lakes Region Community College will receive a donation to support new scholarships for students interested in pursuing careers in the hospitality industry. The Susan and William Cutillo/Path Resorts Scholarship Fund was established as a long-term approach to building a pipeline of hospitality workers in the Lakes Region.
