New Hampshire Community Colleges Announce 2023-24 Tuition Freeze

For the 5th straight year, the Community College System of New Hampshire (CCSNH) is freezing its tuition rate as part of a continued commitment to provide a high-quality education that is affordable for New Hampshire students and families. The freeze was unanimously approved by the Finance Committee of the CCSNH Board of Trustees, preceding a vote by the full board later this summer.

In-state tuition will remain at $215 per credit, which equates to $6,450 for the school year for a full-time course load. Ninety-three percent of students at CCSNH are state residents, and the vast majority remain in New Hampshire after graduating, joining the local workforce, or continuing their education through one of the many transfer pathways between the seven community colleges and bachelor’s degree-granting institutions.

The tuition freeze announcement came as Governor Sununu signed into law the state budget passed in June by the NH Legislature, which includes funds CCSNH had sought to make the tuition freeze possible. Both the Governor, as well as the House and Senate supported the budget request.

Teamwork equals success: The Math Team at NHTI – Concord’s Community College has finished its 2022-2023 Student Mathematics League season as part of the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges (AMATYC), placing first among the New England member schools, first in the Northeast region, and fifteenth in the nation overall.

The combined results from both rounds earned NHTI’s Math Team its top spot on the leaderboard and the Lois A. Martin trophy, named in 2011 to honor the first New Englander to win the national AMATYC Teaching Excellence award in Mathematics at a community college. Coyne was also awarded a $100 prize for being the top NHTI performer on the two competition exams.

Dr. Cheryl Lesser: At Great Bay Community College, Celebrating Our Collective Story

Great Bay Community College recently celebrated its 77th commencement at our main campus on the Pease Tradeport. With a crowd of nearly 1,000 family, friends, and community partners, we celebrated what was a truly memorable day for all.

Behind the nearly 300 degrees and certificates conferred that day are 300 individual stories of challenges overcome, goals reached, and personal and professional growth achieved. This collective story of accomplishment is a point of such pride and epitomizes the critical role GBCC plays in our region, providing opportunity and serving the communities we call home.

Some graduates will now jump right into careers and will help to fill workforce demands in areas such as nursing, welding, biotech, and businesses throughout the region. Others are gaining skills for career advancement or are heading on to a four-year college, having completed the first two years to successfully transfer. With our instruction and guidance and their persistence and talent, I believe that all of them are well-prepared to continue their path and make an impact in our community.
