Mass for the Mystery of Faith
by Ghislaine Reece-Trapp, a Communion Service for mixed voices (SATB), words in Latin

Alleluias
by June Nixon,
an anthem for mixed voices (SSATB) & organ
| | |
The mood of ‘Alleluias’ is spirited and joyful. While the rhythmic character is fast and fluid, the harmonic language involves subtle shifts and surprises. Overall, the cheerful music of this anthem provides a clear expression of rejoicing and praise.
‘The text by Gill Rogers suggested to me a vast chorus of angels circling the earth,' mentions the composer, June Nixon. 'This led to much imitation, word painting, and echo effects in my new piece.’
The words are of a general nature, making this choral work appropriate for more than one season or occasion. The verses focus on a range of themes, such as unity and community, the worldwide church, the Holy Spirit, goodness and peace, the Trinity, as well as Christian hope and joy.
