While The Book of Common Prayer has never proscribed particular colors to be used in the church for particular seasons of the church year, over time different traditions have evolved that associate differing colors to each season. At The Church of St. Michael & St. George we have used the colors that reflect those used in England before the Reformation. In Epiphany and the season after Pentecost, the altar is covered in a tapestry fabric edged in green and the clergy wear vestments with the same tapestry as the central component.

Each year, our generous parish is able to provide funds to many students toward the $800 price tag of the High School Mission Trip, and this only happens because of your support. If you would like to donate some drinks or snack items, please sign up on the YM webpage. And don't forget to stop by the Great Hall to stock up for your party! AN INHERITED FAITH: Have you ever had a child ask you a BIG question that you weren’t sure how to answer—questions about life and death or why the world isn’t always fair? Or what does God look like? Why did Jesus die? Responding to children’s religious, spiritual, and existential questions can be scary. You might think you need a PhD in theology!! In fact, you only need the willingness and a little confidence. This course can give you both! You will feel prepared to respond in an authentic and loving way to inquiring minds, from two years old to young adults. Make plans now to attend our Wonderful Wednesday classes! This class will be led by The Rev. Amy Bertschausen on Wednesdays through February 20. Dinner at 5:30 PM, class from 6-7:30 PM, and Compline (optional) at 7:30 PM. Childcare with advance reservations by 12 PM on Mondays. Register by e-mailing marty@csmsg.org.

JTM WOMEN'S MINISTRY FUND
Jan Torrisi-Mokwa was invaluable in enhancing the Women's Ministry at The Church of St. Michael & St. George, as well as founding the ECW Steering Council by lovingly guiding the group through a process that brought our value and mission statements to fruition. One of the ways that her memory will be honored is by establishing a fund to support the Women's Retreats that Jan so dearly loved. The money will be used to pay for retreat leaders as well as provide scholarships for attendees. If you would like to contribute, please make your check payable to CSMSG and note "JTM Women's Ministry Fund" in the memo. Please contact Laurie Brown at Laurie@csmsg.org if you have any questions.
