Evensong: The Choir of The Church of St. Michael & St. George will sing a service of Solemn Evensong for the Feast of Christ the King Sunday, November 20 at 5 PM. The service will include the Evening Service in D of Herbert Brewer and music by Richard Shephard, Harold Darke, and Herbert Howells. Of particular note, the Choir will sing a Solemn Te Deum - the great Hymn of Thanksgiving of the Church - composed for Kings' College, Cambridge at the conclusion of Evensong as the liturgical year is brought to an end. Please plan to join us for this beautiful sung liturgy to mark the ending of the day. Incense will be used at this service.

STEWARDSHIP 2016-2017  
Thirteen children from our Church School program assisted at the Gateway 180 Homeless Shelter last Sunday. The kids helped make and serve breakfast to the residents. CSMSG kids putting their faith into action!

As of Monday, we have received 206 pledges for a total of $1,236,706. Our goal is $2,000,000. If every household makes a pledge, we can reach our goal. Pledge cards are in the pews or narthex at Church or contact us to send one to you at Laurie@csmsg.org or 314.721.1502.

This year's Campaign theme is " EPIC - Every Parishioner is Called". We are called to give because God made us, redeemed us in Christ, and sustains us in the Spirit. Every Pledge Is Counted. 
Rector's Forum: Please join the Rector as he leads a study of the "Old Testament Roots of the Gospel" from 10:30-11:00 AM in the Taylor Room. 

Annual Nicaragua Mission Poinsettia Sale: A sales table will be in the Great Hall on November 20 and 27. Several sizes and styles and colors are available. Orders can be picked up at Church on Sunday, December 4 and 11. For more information, stop by the sales table in the Great Hall or contact Jennifer McGrath at 636.778.1256.

Marché de Noël Christmas Bazaar Silent Auction items and Luncheon, Tuesday, November 29:  Reservation Forms will be in the Great Hall on Sunday.

Adult Confirmation Classes begin Sunday, November 20. Calling all adults who wish to be confirmed this spring! The Rev. Blake Sawicky will lead Adult Confirmation Classes on Sunday mornings from November 20-December 18.

The class will be held from 10:30-11 AM in the Sverdrup Room. Contact Blake at bsawicky@csmsg.org with questions.

Sing the Savior: An Advent Study of the Gospel Canticles begins November 28. Timothy Chapman will lead a four-week study of these songs from Luke's Gospel. Just as they were spoken at the time of Jesus's first coming, so the church continues to sing them until His return. What can we learn from the Canticles today?

Thursdays, January 5 - March 30, 2017
The Community of Hope
COH at CSMSG announces a new training program to be held at the Church beginning in January of 2017. The COH is a Christian community of lay pastoral caregivers united in prayer, shaped by Benedictine spirituality, and trained for pastoral ministry. Lay pastoral caregivers are taught a ministry of presence in order to bring the presence of Christ to the suffering. At CSMSG, Community of Hope members give spiritual care to people in hospitals, prisons, nursing homes, homeless shelters, and private residences. Please consider joining this very personal and important ministry. The next class will meet 5:30-8:30 PM in the Sverdrup Room on Thursdays, January 5-March 30. Church School Preschool-Kindergarten  children should go to their undercroft classrooms, and  1st-5th Grades  will meet in the Chapel. All classes end at 10:55 AM.

Share the Meaning of Advent! Advent Family Night is Sunday, November 27 at 5 PM with wreath decorating, dinner, a special service in the Church, and Advent-related craft activities. The cost is $20 for the family. If you would like a fresh wreath with candles to decorate, the cost is $30. Please RSVP to reception@csmsg.org or call the Church at 314.721.1502.  

Breakfast with Saint Nicholas is Sunday, December 11 at 11:15 AM in the Great Hall. More information to follow.

Greenery Pickup: Remember to collect your Christmas greenery on Sunday, November 27, between 8 AM - 12 PM. Please e-mail
youth@csmsg.org if you are unable to pick it up on the 27th. Thank you for supporting our scholarship efforts! We also need volunteers to help distribute greenery on this morning. Sign up here .

Winter Retreat at Trout Lodge- Sneak away for one night at beautiful Trout Lodge for a getaway with the Youth Ministry on February 11 and 12. Cost is $135 if you sign up by December 1, $150 afterwards. Friends WELCOME for $60! Chaperones attend free.

The Spiritual Family Class: In a culture too busy for spirituality, how do we learn to practice in our lives and instill in our children the value and delight of the Christian faith? All adults are welcome to join us for this discussion-based class to expand upon Dr. Lisa Miller's work in The Spiritual Child and apply these principles in our families today. We meet each Sunday from 10:30-11:15 AM in the Wydown Meeting Room. This week: A Family Approach to Gratitude: Spirituality in the Thanksgiving Season.
