Member Rebecca Lord has developed a living database of artists willing to make online guest appearances for choirs and music classes. There are lists in the directory for conductors, composers, vocalists, instrumentalists, and music technology professionals. Included for each: biographical information, areas of expertise, willingness to make presentations and/or appear as interview guests, types of groups they will visit, contact information, and fee information (optional).

It is an amazing list of diverse professionals offering to appear for choir classes, events, community and church choirs - about any choral situation. Visit the directory
We invite you to check this page regularly for added resources.

The Genesis Prize was conceived as a response to the difficult times recently facing our world, and the choral art in particular. The prize seeks to stimulate art emerging from crisis by funding both composers and poets to create new choral works that speak to our time with voices of comfort, hope, peace, and justice.

The 2020 competition drew 65 applications of astounding breadth and depth. The judges chose two winners, but also four ranked runners-up and seven other finalists. Winners:
  • Carlos Cordero and Julie Flanders, for their proposed piece Holding Our Breath
  • Kyle Pederson and Brian Newhouse, for their proposed piece Call Across

The Composition Initiatives Standing Committee has issued a public invitation to choirs, patrons, and other entities to review the proposals of runners-up and finalists and consider funding one or more, with the goal to bring them all to life! Details & to review proposals
