Four Members Named Finalists for Music Educator GRAMMY
Four ACDA members are finalists for the Music Educator of the Year Award, given by the Recording Academy and GRAMMY Museum. Big congratulations to Jeffrey Murdock, Chris Maunu, Michelle Folta, and Pamela Dawson!
Results from ACDA Diversity Survey In
Dr. Antonio Cuyler, a faculty member at Florida State University, developed and implemented a diversity survey of ACDA members in November. On December 10, he shared his findings and recommendations with ACDA’s National Board, members of the Diversity Initiatives Standing Committee, and ACDA staff.  Ninety percent of respondents support ACDA being more mindful of accessibility, diversity, equity, and inclusion (ADEI). That is a strong vote of confidence!

The Diversity Initiatives Committee, chaired by Arreon Harley-Emerson, will be advising the Executive Committee on next steps based on Cuyler’s findings and numerous recommendations. Cuyler spoke about the need to look at ACDA through the lens of ADEI; to be intentionally welcoming and inclusive of the choral community; to intensify development efforts; and to avoid false separation between ADEI and musical excellence, saying that they can co-exist. . . . ACDA Fund for Tomorrow Proposal Deadline
Do you have an innovative idea for engaging children or youth in a choral setting, especially one that reaches those who might not have access otherwise? Are you looking for seed money to try out a new approach to expand singing opportunities for young people?

The Fund for Tomorrow is accepting grant proposals from members. Please review the funding priorities and access an application at Deadline: Jan. 1, 2021.
Documentary Series on Choral Singing in America
Research states that approximately one in six Americans sings in an organized choral ensemble. Choral Singing in America: Nurturing the American Soul, now in production, is a documentary series that explores the many traditions of American choral singing and the people, like you and me, who join together to bring these stories to life. We are thrilled to share with you a preview of this documentary series here: As a "Partner Organization," ACDA is proud to be providing various archival materials for the film.
ACDA's Fund for Tomorrow
Donors to the Fund for Tomorrow have helped their choral peers implement creative and innovative projects. Those projects reach into communities where children and youth wouldn’t otherwise be able to participate in choir, and they have diversified the pool from which we draw new singers and choral conductors.

Please consider an end-of-year gift to this fund!

*Our apologies if we’ve added another change to your plate during this crazy year of seemingly unending changes and confusion.

We embarked on a plan for an upgraded membership platform long before March – wanting to continue along the path toward improving member services. We are moving through and out of the transition period, but we also know that some members – much to our dismay – have been frustrated by impediments logging in and/or renewing their membership. Are you one of them?

First, can you log in? Remember, your email address is your username. If you’re not receiving the reset password email at that address, we may need to update your username manually. Please contact us at or (405) 232-8161 and ask for help!

Second, can you renew once you log-in? If you aren’t able to move through the renewal process for some reason, please contact us and ask for a “pro forma invoice.” We’ll email you a link to simply click on and pay your renewal dues.
