Edith Copley Elected National President-Elect
Congratulations to Edith Copley, winner in the national president-elect election that closed Jan. 29. She will step into the president-elect position on July 1, 2021.

ACDA Adds Two New Purposes to Its Constitution
Voters approved the addition of two new ACDA purposes, the first in 46 years, with overwhelming support for adding the following:
  • To foster and promote choral singing in the pursuit of peace and justice that enhances social and emotional well-being.
  • To foster and promote diversity and inclusivity through active engagement with underrepresented choral musicians and potential choral participants.

To view the complete list of purposes now contained in the Constitution, click here. Complete Constitution and Bylaws.

Conference pre-registration might be behind us, but there are still reasons to register now!

Reason 1: Save Your "Seat" for the Live Sessions with Limited Seating
We are anticipating that the conference site on Pathable (the platform ACDA is using for this virtual conference) will become "active" next week (Feb. 10). When it does, if you have already registered, you will receive an email notification with log-on information. You can then create a profile, view the conference agenda, and add the sessions you want to attend "live" to your personal agenda (only one per time slot). This reserves your spot and is especially valuable for those sessions with limited "seating" during the live conference!

Retired members: $169
Student members: $99

Your registration at any time will automatically schedule you for live General Sessions, Concert Sessions, and Exhibit times, and will give you access to all conference sessions and concerts via recordings through December.

Reason 2: Help Honor Rodney Eichenberger, 2021 Robert Shaw Award Recipient
The Shaw Reception will be a virtual event open to all conference attendees on Saturday, Mar. 20, 3:45 p.m. PST/6:45 p.m. EST. Join in the celebration! Want to congratulate Rod or share how he influenced your musical life? Submit a 15-second video for us to use. Learn more.

Conference-related Deadlines
  • State chapter elections currently open or that will run this month: New York (Feb. 8-22), South Carolina (Feb. 9-22), and Virginia (Feb. 9-22).

All voting eligible members (Active, Retired, Life, and Paying Life) receive a notification email on the morning the election opens, with a link to their eBallot and instructions for accessing candidate information.
