"Those Lazy-Hazy-Crazy Days of Summer" is the title of an album produced in 1963 by Nat King Cole. It is fitting for those of us who follow the academic calendar and have a "break" during June, July, and August. At least, "so they say" to quote another common phrase.

I became president of the Eastern Region on July 1st, and I, hereby, send my first ChoraLink message in this position!  Becoming your leader for the next two years is an exciting and daunting challenge, and I promise to focus my organizational and visionary abilities to the best of my ability for the good of the region. The new Eastern Region Board has been established and will be introduced in next month's message.

For now, I would like to focus on "those lazy-hazy-crazy days of summer!"  Both personally and professionally, we live our lives from three different perspectives: in our memory, in the moment, and in our dreams for the future. Summer offers many of us the opportunity to reflect on the past year and to prepare for the next.

Nine of our state chapters have organized summer workshops to inspire us in our preparations. Thanks to Judith Nicosia, our region secretary and editor, for compiling a list of those occurring this summer. And commendations are given to all of you who have organized these events! They are listed by state in alphabetical order.

All good wishes as you reflect and prepare!

Peggy Dettwiler

Eastern Region President for 2018-2020
