What a week! I don’t know about you, but as the parent of a high school senior with a very limited schedule, this week felt like spring break. For those of you with preschool, elementary and middle school, I am sure the week felt very different. And as the great philosopher Lawrence Peter Berra once said, “it’s like de ja vu all over again.”

We will keep our eyes on the weather tomorrow and Sunday and follow along with the decisions from the church in terms of whether we have youth Sunday night. Right now, if I was a betting man, I am taking the snowfall odds. We will see. Nevertheless, be safe out there and if it does snow, say a prayer for only snow. This ice has been something else.

HOPEFULLY THIS WEEK

2/1 – Regular youth – 6:00-7:30 - Aldersgate Hall

Snack Supper Volunteers are the Wolff Family – Snack Supper is $3

UPCOMING YOUTH CALENDAR

2/8 – SOUPER Bowl Party – 6:00 – Halftime - Aldersgate Hall

For the past twenty years or so, I have loathed the Patriots. Then they drafted the Drake. I am very thankful that this year’s Super Bowl is one that I have a rooting interest in for a change. (Subtle nudge to David Tepper…..get it together man)

Notice above that it is spelled SOUPER bowl? I am asking our youth who are able to come to the Super Bowl event to bring some cans of soup to donate to our ministries.

YOUTH SERVICE EVENT

2/15 – Connections Class Mardi Gras Pancake Supper 3:00 – 7:00pm

This will be our February service event and youth are needed to help set up, serve, and clean up. I will have some signups beginning 2/1 for jobs. We won’t need everyone at 3:00 but will need everyone here by 5:00 for the event.

If you and your family want to join us, you may purchase tickets for this mission event here:

Mardi Gras Pancake Supper Ticket - FSUMC Missions

These funds will go to our Children’s ministry and Playschool.

I would like all our youth to bring the normal $3 (or more if inclined) as a donation.

2/22 – Regular Youth – 6:00-7:30pm – Aldersgate Hall

Snack Supper Volunteers are the Klein Family – Bring $3 for snack supper. Daniel will be leading the lesson on Lectio Divinia and how we should read and immerse ourselves in scripture.

It may take a little while to get going, but we are looking forward to all we have coming up.

Stay safe out there this weekend and, parents/youth, I will be in touch if our plans for Sunday change.
