The Bible Project
Join Zoom Meeting ~ Sundays, 9:30 AM
(no passcode)

Join us this fall with an interactive journey to connect us with fellow parishioners and dig deeper into God’s Word. We will be using Bible Project to lead us in our study. As the people of Christ Church, we will read the entire New Testament over the course of two fall semesters. Click here for the readings and links.
There are three ways to engage:
1. Small group discussion on Sundays at 9:30 AM. We will begin in a Zoom format where we watch a short video on the Bible book being covered for the week then break out into small groups to discuss two questions.
2. Disciple track – read highlights of the Bible book covered on Sunday each day.
3. Scholar track – read the entire Bible book covered on Sunday over the course of the week.

Volunteers Needed!!
Friday, December 4
& Saturday, December 19
~ 9:00 AM ~
Allen Chapel AME Church
We have been serving around 200 families each food distribution. Our next food distribution days will be Friday, December 4 and Saturday, December 19, partnering with Allen Chapel AME Church and distributing food at 500 N. Guillemard StWe need volunteers to work a shift in the morning to either sort or distribute food. Volunteer duties range from directing traffic and filling out forms for families, to more labor-involved duties of sorting and distributing food. While it is outdoors and we take precautions like masks, please do not volunteer if you are at a high risk of infection or if you are not feeling well. Please email Honey Harris to volunteer.
We have some special stories and activities planned for Children’s Chapel as we begin the season of Advent – the beautiful season of Hope.

The First Sunday of Advent — The story we will hear is entitled “Get Ready” from our Jesus Storybook Bible. God promises his people that he is going to send his messenger – the promised one. We will light our first advent candle and begin our discussion of what Advent means in our church year. We will make Advent wreaths (siblings will work together). Adult helpers will be on hand to work on this project with the children. Hopefully, we will get most of the wreaths completed, but if not, we will send them home so that you can make them part of your Advent. (If your wreath is not complete, we will send supplies so that it can be completed at home.) Please join us either in-church or as a Zoomer. Parents, please sign children up here (max 12 children).

For those who are with us on Zoom, Britton Lynn and Rudy will be with you to tell this story — these sessions begin at 9:30 AM. The meeting ID is 3205228708. Britton will let you in through the waiting room.

Mark your calendar! Sunday, December 20, we will have hot chocolate, treats and a special visitor.

Reminder to parents: Please bring your children directly to the Parish Hall prior to the 10:30 church service. You will enter from the courtyard and breezeway and sign your children in at the Parish Hall door. You and your children will need to wear a mask and remember the guidelines for social distancing.
Sacred Ground Dialogue ~ Sundays, 9:15 AM
Legacies: Racism's Long Life is the title for Session Nine of our curriculum. Each of us has experienced how a past negative action has had long term harmful consequences for a relationship. This Sunday our conversation centers on the impact of slavery and racism on the present relationship between black and white citizens. We will also consider "how as individuals, a group and a congregation you might contribute to healing of the harms." A Zoom connection is our means of conversing from 9:15-10:00 AM on Sundays and is facilitated by Dick Hooper and David Starling. Join the dialogue through the ZOOM link available in the Saturday announcements. Please click here for more information.
Wednesday, December 2 ~ 3:00 PM (via Zoom)
