Allen Chapel AME Church
We have been serving around 200 families each food distribution. Our next food distribution day will be Thursday, February 25, partnering with Allen Chapel AME Church and distributing food at 500 N. Guillemard StWe need volunteers to work a shift in the morning to either sort or distribute food. Volunteer duties range from directing traffic and filling out forms for families, to more labor-involved duties of sorting and distributing food. While it is outdoors and we take precautions like masks, please do not volunteer if you are at a high risk of infection or if you are not feeling well. Please email Honey Harris to volunteer.
The Parish Office will be closed on Monday, February 15
in observance of Presidents' Day.

Since we did not have in-church Children’s Chapel last Sunday, we will continue our stories of Jesus’ ministry by hearing the story of the healing of Jairus' daughter from the Gospel of Luke Chapter 8. In addition, we will be making cards for a friend in the military who is being deployed. We are moving toward Valentine’s Day which is Sunday, February 14. We will have the beautiful story of St. Valentine, make Valentines and have a special party. Mark your calendars. Please sign children up here (max 15 children).

For those who are with us on Zoom, Britton Lynn and Rudy will be with you to tell this story — these sessions begin at 9:30 AM. The meeting ID is 3205228708. Britton will let you in through the waiting room.

Jesus: Light of the World ~ Sundays, 9:00 AM
The stories of Jesus' infancy end with the arrival of the Magi. Matthew wants to introduce the Christ whose light is so bright that we will return to our daily lives by a "another way." In her book Light of the World, Amy-Jill Levine has offered us insights which may help us see and follow this other way of Christ. Any and all are welcome to join facilitators Dick Hooper and David Starling on Sunday at 9:00 AM on Zoom for the final session of this Christmas/Epiphany study. Join the class through the link available in the Saturday announcements. Please click here for more information.
As a result of a generous donation from the Boney Family, we are grateful to announce the Sam and Marcia Boney Memorial Music Fund to support a number of different musical endeavors at Christ Church. Sam and Marcia were longtime supporters of the music ministries of Christ Church as well as supporters of music in the Pensacola community. While plans for the fund will be further developed by the rector, director of music ministries and chorister Cecil Carlton, donations and memorials in honor of Sam and Marcia may be made to Christ Church Parish designated for the Boney Memorial Music Fund.
Settle in where you are at this moment and make yourself quiet, light a candle if you like...and breathe. Compline can be done right where you are — it is typically done right before going to sleep. It can be done in your home, backyard, favorite outdoor space or church. You can be by yourself or with others. The Order of Compline we are using is found in the Book of Common Prayer on page 127. Deacon Rachel Iversen invites you to join her to find rest in this nightly service of Compline. The YouTube link can be found here.
Each week our worship service is enhanced with beautiful fresh flowers. The altar flowers are a memorial, a thanksgiving for an anniversary, a birthday, a new birth, or a thanksgiving for God's blessings. The donation is listed in the weekly bulletin. Forms to participate in this ministry are available here.
Christ Church is here for you. There are many ministries to love and support the people who are the church. We continue to support one another, especially during this pandemic. If you are interested in assisting with staying connected to our church family, please email Rev. Katie or call her at the Parish Office, 850-432-5115. It is easy to feel alone or disconnected right now, so reach out to one of the priests or someone at the church to say hello. Contact Rev. Katie if you or anyone you know has any needs. If you have a pastoral emergency, please call our pastoral care emergency line to speak directly with one of the priests: (850) 462-5137.
