Please join us for Sunday worship to hear a special message from Dave and Jen Leahey on their last Sunday serving on staff. We give thanks for the ministry of Dave and Jen and the hard work of their whole family, blessing us greatly at Christ Church. While this Sunday is bittersweet, and we are not able to have a celebratory reception, we are grateful that we will continue to stay connected with the Leaheys over the next few years as Jen continues her discernment and studies at Virginia Theological Seminary. We, as the people who are Christ Church, sponsor her and will continue to walk closely with them on this journey towards ordination.

Reading the book is not required, rather it is encouraged for the discussion questions at the end of the teaching. Note: We will not have class on July 22. We will resume with Session Three on July 29 to finish the book. The format will involve some time for discussion on these topics and is open to all, regardless if you have had the opportunity to read the assigned chapters.

Our next book that we will start in August will be Robin DiAngelo’s, White Fragility
(order on Amazon   here ).

Mobile Food Pantry Food Distribution – Christ Church, Thursday, July 30
We have been serving around 200 families each food distribution. Our next food distribution will be Thursday, July 30. In August, we will be partnering with Allen Chapel AME Church; dates are forthcoming. We are in need of volunteers to work a shift in the morning to either sort or distribute food. While it is outdoors and we take precautions like masks, please do not volunteer if you are at a high risk of infection or if you are not feeling well. Please email Honey Harris to volunteer.

Masks Needed – At home, anytime
Masks are in great need during this time, including for the VA Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System. If you are able to make masks (please see guidelines on our website: Mask Instructions ), please call or email Rev. Katie .
Sundays ~ 9:30 AM
Rabbi Naomi Levy writes in her book,   Einstein and the Rabbi , "The Eternal Force opens our eyes to glimpses of heaven here." Jesus taught that relationship with God gives us an experience of eternal life in the present time. Are these teachings similar or not? The section of this book "Experiencing Unity and a Taste of Eternity" (chapters 34-37) is our text for discussion this week. Reading of the book is not required to participate with us. Dick Hooper and David Starling are facilitators for this study. For more information or to get a book, please email David Starling or contact him by text/phone (850) 712-0977.
