OUR PARISH MISSION
Christ Church exists to show everyone God loves them unconditionally.
We do that by EXPERIENCING, EMBRACING, AND EXTENDING
God's love.

There are three ways to give to the mission of Christ Church:
you can mail in your pledge, give online, or text GIVE to (850) 403-6673.

OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE IN THE CHURCH
As Fr. Michael has discussed, we are all excited to be making a return towards normal worship services. With that in mind, please take a look at the link here that details some of the ways to serve in helping with those services. If you are interested in any of these ministries, please sign up and we will follow up with more details!
JOIN THE CHRIST CHURCH USHERS
Christ Church Parish has a long tradition of an active, dedicated corps of ushers. Indeed, John Conners, to whom a plaque is inscribed in the narthex/vestibule for his devoted service over decades as Head Usher, well exemplified commitment to the significance and role of ushers at Christ Church.

Ushering is a part of an ancient lay ministry within the Church dating back to the 300's A.D. and known as the Ministry of the Porter. Ushers attended the door which was the entryway to worship and the eligibility to partake in communion. Its function evolved to become a ministry of hospitality in welcoming and assisting people with worship. The usher is often the first person a visitor to the church meets, and the smile and helpfulness shown by him or her to that person truly can have a positive effect upon their comfort level and worship experience...it can help them feel welcomed.

Currently, we are reaching out to members of the church, both men and women, to become involved in serving as an usher. The time commitment is not great but participating is an integral part of the church service, whether a scheduled Sunday or special service or even a funeral or celebration, and it is very meaningful in our own personal worship experience.

Anyone interested in serving may contact the parish office or sign up via the link above under "Opportunities to Serve"; we are in the process of contacting several individuals who have signed up recently about this important lay ministry of the church. Great appreciation is extended to those who have and are currently serving in this important role at Christ Church.

NEW ADULT CHRISTIAN EDUCATION CLASS:
Facing Fear with Discipleship
Sundays ~ 9:15 AM ~ Parish Hall
In Proverbs 9:10 it is written, "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom." Fear is not often understood to be a good and desired emotion, but William Willimon writes in his study, Fear of the Other, about discipleship as a way of "Learning to Fear Like Christians" (Chapter 3). Ways in which fear can be a gift from God will be the focus of the session beginning at 9:15 AM on Sunday. It will be possible to participate in person (Room 31 in the Christian Education building) or by Zoom. Dick Hooper and David Starling facilitate the discussion.
EPISCOPAL YOUTH COMMUNITY NEWS
ALTAR FLOWER DEDICATIONS
Each week our worship service is enhanced with beautiful fresh flowers. The altar flowers are a memorial, a thanksgiving for an anniversary, a birthday, a new birth, or a thanksgiving for God's blessings. The donation is listed in the weekly bulletin. Forms to participate in this ministry are available here.
CARE IN COMMUNITY
Christ Church is here for you. There are many ministries to love and support the people who are the church. We continue to support one another, especially during this pandemic. If you are interested in assisting with staying connected to our church family, please email Rev. Katie or call her at the Parish Office, 850-432-5115. It is easy to feel alone or disconnected right now, so reach out to one of the priests or someone at the church to say hello. Contact Rev. Katie if you or anyone you know has any needs. If you have a pastoral emergency, please call our pastoral care emergency line to speak directly with one of the priests: (850) 462-5137.
