Christ Church exists to show everyone God loves them unconditionally.
We do that by EXPERIENCING, EMBRACING, AND EXTENDING
God's love.
There are several ways to give to the mission of Christ Church:
you can mail in your pledge, place in the Sunday offering,
give online, or text GIVE to (850) 403-6673.

Adult Christian Education Offering
"Abraham: First of a Kind" led by Fr. David Knight
Sundays ~ 9:30 AM ~ Parish Hall
Join Fr. David for an indepth look at the story of Abraham and Sarah, a first of a kind people. We will examine Genesis 12-22 and see how unique the Father and Mother of our Faith are, how they struggled and overcame, building altars along the way. What can we learn from their journey – the highs, the lows, and the very human way they struggled to build the kind of faith that carried them to the 22nd chapter?

How to Pray: A Simple Guide for Normal People
Sundays ~ 9:15-10:15 AM ~ Room 31, 2nd floor of Education Building
The last chapter and session of this study is entitled “Amen” which seems very appropriate since Christian prayers end with this word and appeal to God. Amen has traditionally been translated as “so be it.” We finish by summarizing the teachings and practices for prayer by Rev. Greig and how this book might have affected one’s prayers.

MONTCLAIR BLESSINGS
**Supplies Drive runs through Sunday, August 30!**
Many, many thanks again for all the generous contributions you have made to Montclair Elementary. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. We have so much more to do!
VOLUNTEERS make a huge difference. We have some Christ Church heroes reading with children, serving as teachers’ helpers, mentoring and encouraging students, working in the library, and doing small tasks that free up teachers to teach. Truly, the burden is light; you choose your own work schedule during school hours. You can meet team members and ask questions on Sunday, August 30 between services and after the 10:30 service.

AN INVITATION TO SUNDAY SILENCE
Now that the fall schedule for breakfast and Sunday School is underway, we invite you to consider the option of a little time for silence in your busy Sunday morning. Centering Prayer is offered from 9:30 to 10:15 AM in the Choir Library, just outside the Choir Room on the first floor of the Education Building. This method of silent, contemplative prayer gives us an opportunity to let go of our thoughts in order to rest in God’s presence. Newcomers to the prayer will be given a brief introduction to the method, followed by sitting with the group in 20 minutes of silence. No commitments, no pressure, just a chance to spend some quiet time with God! If you would like more information or have questions, please contact Joan White.

Writings of: Brother Lawrence
Sundays ~ 9:15-10:15 AM ~ Room 31, Education Building
Brother Lawrence’s "early career as a soldier ended with an injury that would cause him pain for the rest of his life. After joining a monastery in Paris at the age of 26, he was appointed to one of the most menial tasks: cooking and cleaning in the kitchen. In that noisy kitchen he learned to rest continually in God’s presence.” This study will focus on the ways Brother Lawrence lived as if God was present in every moment of life.

ALTAR FLOWER DEDICATIONS
Each week our worship service is enhanced with beautiful fresh flowers. After the Sunday services, the altar flower arrangements are reworked into smaller arrangements. These arrangements are delivered to members of our parish family that are unable to attend a Sunday service. The altar flowers are a memorial, a thanksgiving for an anniversary, a birthday, a new birth, or a thanksgiving for God's blessings. The donation is listed in the weekly bulletin. Forms to participate in this ministry are available here and on the information table in the Foyer.

CHURCH PRAYER SHAWLS
A few prayer shawls have been placed on a stand just inside the front doors of the church that may be used during services. If you are a bit chilly or just want something to hold, pick up a prayer shawl to use. It is the hope of the Prayer Shawl Ministry that these items, prayerfully made, will offer comfort and a sense of well-being to the borrowers and they will feel God’s love and peace.
