Join us this fall with an interactive journey to connect us with fellow parishioners and dig deeper into God’s Word. We will be using Bible Project to lead us in our study. As the people of Christ Church, we will read the entire New Testament over the course of two fall semesters. Click here for the readings and links.
There are three ways to engage:
1. Small group discussions on Sundays at 9:30 AM and 4:00 PM. We will begin in a Zoom format where we watch a short video on the Bible book being covered for the week then break out into small groups to discuss two questions.
2. Disciple track – read highlights of the Bible book covered on Sunday each day.
3. Scholar track – read the entire Bible book covered on Sunday over the course of the week.

Montclair Elementary School
Christ Church works with the leadership of Montclair Elementary to amplify the school's efforts and bless the students. While we cannot provide mentors and tutors like we have in the past, the school’s administration will be working with us on needs that they may have as school starts back.

Pastoral Care/Connection
Christ Church has many ministries that love and support the people who are the church. We will continue to work to support one another through good times and bad, especially during this pandemic. To assist in one of the many ways that we reach out to our church family, email Fr. Walt.

Volunteers Needed!!
Saturday, September 26 ~ 9:00 AM
Allen Chapel AME Church
We have been serving around 200 families each food distribution. Our next food distribution day will be Saturday, September 26, partnering with Allen Chapel AME Church and distributing food at 500 N. Guillemard StWe need volunteers to work a shift in the morning to either sort or distribute food. Volunteer duties range from directing traffic and filling out forms for families, to more labor-involved duties of sorting and distributing food. While it is outdoors and we take precautions like masks, please do not volunteer if you are at a high risk of infection or if you are not feeling well. Please email Honey Harris to volunteer.
Saturday, October 3 ~ 9:00 AM ~ Front Courtyard
Each year on the weekend closest to St. Francis Day we have the Blessing of Animals. This year it will be on Saturday, October 3 at 9:00 AM in the front courtyard. Any animal you can bring is welcome — along with a donation of canned or packaged pet food for our local animal shelter!
On Sunday, October 4th we will begin our Christian Education programs for the children of Christ Church ages four through 5th grade. You will have two opportunities to participate. You can register for in-church chapel service for children which will be held at 10:30 AM in the Parish Hall, or you can participate in a Zoom class with our Director of Youth Ministries, Britton Lynn. The link to register for in-church chapel service and Zoom information will be in the Chronicle next week.

If you are planning to attend the in-church service, please know we are providing a "Covid-Safe" space. You and your children will need to wear a mask and remember the guidelines for social distancing. Children will be checked in at the door leading to the Parish Hall from the church breezeway. We will have signs marking the way.
Sacred Ground Dialogue ~ Sundays, 9:30 AM
The first session of our conversation is "Stepping Onto Sacred Ground" which will center on the film "American Creed." The central focus of our discussion will be to identify things and ideals which bind us together as a nation and society. The intent is to listen to others more than convincing others to think alike. Dick Hooper and David Starling are facilitators. Please email David Starling or contact him by text/phone (850) 712-0977 for more information.
Wednesday, October 7 ~ 3:00 PM via Zoom
The Epic Book Club has begun Zoom book club meetings until we can meet again in person. Please email Catherine Jehle to be added to the email list for updates and a link to the Zoom meeting, and/or join our Facebook group (EPIC Bookclub of Christ Episcopal Church). We will meet on the first Wednesday of the month at 3:00 PM. The October book discussion will be Mountains Beyond Mountains by Tracy Kidder.
Due to Covid 19 and limited capacity, BayLights weekend is programmed as a "Getaway by the Bay" for adults and families. There will be no live entertainment Friday night; no Diocesan Ultreya or Rock Bottom on Saturday. It's an opportunity for a fun filled weekend with your friends and family in God's front yard!
Come pick up blank cards this week at 1100 E. Bobe St., 32503 to write notes of encouragement thanking first responders and linemen!
Our weekly Africa 🇺🇬 EYC Book Club on ZOOM
Every Sunday ~ 7:00-8:00 PM
Surprise special guests from Uganda ministries will join us as we read about a teen who moved from Nashville, TN to Uganda in faith — and the challenges to trust God while in Africa. This book club is for guys and girls of all ages. It is a New York Times Bestseller – and one of Britton's personal favorites! You do not need to RSVP to come to the book club and there is no "homework" or reading to participate in this book club! Purchasing a book is not necessary. We will be screen-sharing an e-book, but if you would like to purchase a book it is Kisses from Katie by Katie Davis.
