We embrace God's love (Study/Formation)

The Bible Project
Join us this fall with an interactive journey to connect us with fellow parishioners and dig deeper into God’s Word. We will be using Bible Project to lead us in our study. As the people of Christ Church, we will read the entire New Testament over the course of two Fall semesters. Click here for the readings and links.
There are three ways to engage:
1. Small group discussions at 9:30 AM and 4 PM. We will begin in a zoom format where we watch a short video on the Bible book being covered for the week then break out into small groups to discuss two questions.
2. Disciple track – read highlights of the Bible book covered on Sunday each day.
3. Scholar track – read the entire Bible book covered on Sunday over the course of the week.

Lift Every Voice
Lift Every Voice is a weekly conversation with a person who will share a different perspective that may change our understanding of our community and our role in it. These sessions will begin in a Zoom format on Wednesday nights at 7:00 PM.
September 16 – Pastor Tyler Burns — Pastor Burns is a prominent voice in the discussions around race in Christianity. He is the pastor of New Dimensions Christian Center, author, podcaster (check out Pass the Mic podcast), and Vice President of The Witness: A Black Christian Collective.

Montclair Elementary School
Christ Church works with the leadership of Montclair Elementary to amplify the school's efforts and bless the students. While we cannot provide mentors and tutors like we have in the past, the school’s administration will be working with us on needs that they may have as school starts back.

Pastoral Care/Connection
Christ Church has many ministries that love and support the people who are the church. We will continue to work to support one another through good times and bad, especially during this pandemic. To assist in one of the many ways that we reach out to our church family, email Fr. Walt.

Sacred Ground Dialogue beginning September 13
From Genesis to Revelation the Hebrew/Christian scriptures agree with the author of Psalm 24, “The earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it…”  Sacred Ground Dialogue is curriculum of the Episcopal Church intended to assist parishes “in transformational conversation about race.” Dick Hooper and David Starling will co-facilitate this class beginning September 13 to hear perspectives about life for persons of color in the sacred ground called the United States. Class size will be limited to allow for dialogue — you may email David Starling or contact him by text/phone (850) 712-0977 to sign-up or for more information.
Due to Covid 19 and our limited capacity, BayLights weekend is programmed as a "Getaway by the Bay" for adults and families. There will be no live entertainment Friday night; no Diocesan Ultreya or Rock Bottom on Saturday. It's an opportunity for a fun filled weekend with your friends and family in God's front yard!
Our weekly Africa 🇺🇬 EYC Book Club on ZOOM
Every Sunday ~ 7:00-8:00 PM
Surprise special guests from Uganda ministries will join us as we read about a teen who moved from Nashville, TN to Uganda in faith — and the challenges to trust God while in Africa. This book club is for guys and girls of all ages. It is a New York Times Bestseller – and one of Britton's personal favorites! You do not need to RSVP to come to the book club and there is no "homework" or reading to participate in this book club! Purchasing a book is not necessary. We will be screen-sharing an e-book, but if you would like to purchase a book it is Kisses from Katie by Katie Davis.
