The Feast of Pentecost this year 2020 marks the 130 ^th Anniversary of the foundation of Christ Episcopal Church Dallas. When the founders of our church decided to work together to plant a new church, more than focusing on the physical building, they focused first on the spiritual building of the Body of Christ. They met together to learn, hear, and discern God’s voice, they worked to accept, support, and love each other. Then, they moved into action to raise funds, find generous benefactors, making plans to buy land and build their new construction, etc.

The spiritual foundation was first, and that was their priority. It is the same today for us, our beautiful building is important, however, the people of the church, each member and family, each face and smile, each personal story are what make our church a unique encounter of God’s creation.

As we celebrate our common history, please remember that the Holy Spirit continues renewing Jesus’ Incarnation in the flesh of our lives today as well. Be open to see His work in and through each person, be grateful for all members, benefactors, and people that have gone before us.

Christ Episcopal Church Dallas continues being a unique and blessed space in time where God’s grace endures and surpasses all hurdles. I invite you to strive to be remain faithful and to make God your first and only reason to be all He created you to be.

La Fiesta de Pentecostés de este año 2020, marca el 130 Aniversario de la fundación de la Iglesia Episcopal Cristo en Dallas. Cuando los fundadores de nuestra iglesia decidieron trabajar juntos para plantar una nueva iglesia, más que enfocarse en la construcción física, se enfocaron primero en la construcción espiritual del Cuerpo de Cristo. Se reunieron para aprender, escuchar y discernir la voz de Dios, trabajaron para aceptarse, apoyarse y amarse. Luego, entraron en acción para recaudar fondos, encontrar benefactores generosos, hacer planes para comprar tierras y construir su nueva construcción, etc.

El fundamento espiritual fue primero, y esa era su prioridad. Es lo mismo hoy para nosotros, nuestro hermoso edificio es importante, sin embargo, la gente de la Iglesia, cada miembro y familia, cada cara y sonrisa, cada historia personal es lo que hace de nuestra Iglesia un lugar de encuentro único con la creación de Dios.

Mientras celebramos nuestra historia común, recuerden que el Espíritu Santo continúa renovando la Encarnación de Jesús en la carne de nuestras vidas hoy también. Esté abierto a ver la obra de Dios en y a través de cada persona, agradezca por todos los miembros, benefactores y personas que nos han precedido.

La Iglesia Episcopal Cristo Dallas continúa siendo un espacio único y bendecido en el tiempo donde la gracia de Dios perdura y supera todos los obstáculos. Los invito a esforzasen por mantenerse fieles a Dios, poniéndolo a Él como la primera y única razón de ser, para alcanzar todo lo que Él nos creó para que nosotros fuéramos.

Please note that there is a new time on Saturdays at 11 AM for the Children's Time via Zoom.

Our Children's Ministry Director, Guelda Gutierrez and Catechists Delfina Castillo and Rosa Ponce are enjoying this special time by reading the Psalm and sharing about the Sunday Gospel. The Circle of Gratitude is also a very special prayer time for everyone. See you then!

Christ Church Vestry News

On Sunday, June 28, 2020, at 2:00 pm, the Vestry will hold their monthly meeting via Zoom. Due to Father's Day, this meeting is rescheduled for the last Sunday in this month of June.

Our Clergy and Vestry continue to keep our church a safe place with the Supplemental Order Stay Home, Stay Safe, Social Distancing measures and by ensuring Christ Church adheres to the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas Church Reopening & Holy Communion Protocols during COVID-19.

Christ Church Vestry Members and their families need your prayers as they continually strive to make good decisions on behalf of all our parish families during this coronavirus/COVID-19 global pandemic.
