Vacation Bible School: A Note from the Teacher, Amy Seaman!

The Sunday School children met this last week for Vacation Bible School with a

theme.  We looked at key clips from movies and compared them to Bible stories to help the children learn and remember not only the stories but also how parts of our own lives can be compared to the lessons we learn from the Bible. (Please visit the church's facebook page to see the daily photos and find a full description.)  The take away themes from each day were: second chances and changing our behavior to follow God's desires for us; hope and redemption; appreciating God's gifts and recognizing the talents that have been given to us by God so that we use them to spread His Glory; remembering who we are: Children of God; and keeping in mind that we have a friend in Jesus, and our friend Jesus commands us to Love One Another.

We enjoyed lots of fun, creative snacks, and we made crafts for our Adventure Books to remind us of the lessons we learned each day.  We also picked out our bottle cap badges, marking us a members of our Vacation Bible School Adventure Club.

Many thanks to the parents and grandparents who brought the children to VBS each day, made our snacks, and provided helping hands.  The children, with their bottomless pits, polished off those snacks each day--quite the hit!  Thank you to Kay Datesman and Bobby for visiting us on our last day to cement our lesson of LOVE.  It was a great week!

Blessings,
Amy Seaman

Memorial Garden Committee

What a joy for the creation of the St. Christopher Memorial Garden of Christ Church.  We are thankful for the funds received through the Diocese from the former Church of the Epiphany, Ventnor, that enabled this project to be completed.  This is now an opportunity for you to support the perpetual care of the memorial garden.

You can do this by purchasing a dedication brick to be placed on part of the garden pathway.  At this time there are a limited number of bricks available.  Your engraved brick can be obtained at $100.00 per brick.  A couple of ideas for the dedication are in memory of someone, honoring someone, or sponsoring a brick for whatever reason.

To obtain an order form, you may leave a message at the church office at 609-927-6262 or email Marilyn Anderson [email protected].  Forms are also available in the church narthex.

Yours in Christ,

Memorial Garden Committee
