Dear Christ Church Family and Friends,

This Sunday, October 5th, we gather for the Seventeenth Sunday after Pentecost—a beautiful season in the church year when we are called to grow, serve, and walk with Christ daily.

Join us for worship as we lift our hearts in praise, reflect on the Word, and find strength in community. Whether you’ve been coming for years or it’s your first Sunday with us, you are warmly welcomed. The worship bulletin is [HERE]

Creating a Culture of Generosity

Generosity is our response to the abundance that God demonstrated in Creation, and our Church reflects that ongoing partnership in love and creativity through our mission to the world. Join us October 7 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for this free webinar, a collaboration between the Diocese of Ohio and TENS: The Episcopal Network for Stewardship. This is a great opportunity to learn some new information about how to create a culture of appreciation and gratitude in your congregation. Please register here.

Innovation Community Call

In this session, we will learn about Mission Maps, a tool available to all our faith communities that can give us insight into census data and other social, environmental, and economic data about the communities around us. We will talk about how Mission Maps reports can come alongside our on-the-ground neighborhood mapping and relationship building. The idea is not to let data make decisions about ministries and mission but rather to help us get even more curious about our neighbors, our neighborhood, and how we can keep building neighborhood relationships for mission. These calls are open to anyone, lay or clergy, who wants to grow in community with others and to explore life-giving mission in their local context. Monthly zoom calls happen every 3rd Wednesday between August – May, and our next call will be Wednesday, October 15 from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. Contact Canon Audra Abt for more information. Zoom link here.

RETURN OF DINNER & A MOVIE WITH JESUS (THE CHOSEN)

Join us on Wednesdays at 5:30 PM for dinner and a movie.

We will gather in the Narthex for a light meal and an episode of The Chosen series we have all come to love.

We will have a brief discussion afterwards.

Liturgical Ministry Trainings – Sign Up Today!

We’re offering upcoming training for all who serve in worship — and for those who feel called to begin.

Sign-up sheets are available in the Narthex to indicate which training session you plan to attend.

Morning and evening sessions will be offered on multiple days to accommodate busy schedules.

These sessions allow new participants to be trained and certified and provide renewal certification (required every three years) for current servers.

Here’s a brief description of each ministry:

• Worship Leader – A lay person licensed to lead public worship services when a priest is not present.

• Acolyte – Assists at the altar, carries the cross and candles, and helps make worship flow smoothly.

•Eucharistic Visitor – Takes the Holy Communion to members of the congregation who are unable to attend church.

•Eucharistic Minister – Assists the priest during the Eucharist by administering the chalice.

Whether you’re renewing your license or feeling called to serve for the first time, these trainings are a wonderful way to deepen your participation in our shared worship.

Please see Mother Robin with questions.
