Summer Flashback
It finally feels like fall, but we are still relishing the memories made on our annual Teen Summer Trip.

A highlight every summer at Christ’s Haven is the Annual Summer Trip with our teenagers. Each year we carve out time to travel and create fun memories.

Reunification
A Note From Christ's Haven CEO,
Cassie McQuitty

Some days our work is just harder than others. One day recently, many of the staff (myself included) woke up with bittersweet emotions. That was the day we watched five children who had lived at Christ's Haven for many years reunify with their families. The bittersweet is a combination of joy and gratitude that they are back with their family along with the loss we feel not having them here anymore.

We often say we are here to care for kids and serve families as long as they need us, whether that is six months or sixteen years. Our work is to walk alongside them until reunification is a viable option. I know we are called to seasons - some feel too short, some seem just right and occasionally it may seem too long. But what I also know is that God has gone before us and is sovereign in all seasons. His timing is always right ON time.

I am so grateful for every child we get a chance to care for and love in our neighborhood of homes. That day seeing families reunify back together while also saying goodbye to all at Christ's Haven who have cared for them was a time of joy and honor. We saw redemption and hope from a front row seat. It doesn't make it easier, but definitely worth it.

Because of the love, support and faithfulness of all of our staff, donors, and volunteers, five children went home to their families. I believe bringing a child to Christ's Haven when a family knows they need help may be the bravest choice a parent makes. I also believe knowing it is time to bring them back home takes that same bravery.
