our Christ's Starfish Foundation
Newsletter!
In this edition, we have our summary report for 2018, highlights from all of our events, and our vision for the new year.
The mission of Christ's Starfish Foundation is to share the love of Jesus Christ
through two areas of service:
- Supporting children confined to local children’s hospitals by providing assistance through Child Life Specialists.
- Assisting families of non-cancer patients who are experiencing financial hardships due to their child’s illness.

A Big Step Forward!
As we moved into 2019, we were able to hire our first “Vision” employee. Effective January 7, Karen Frame assumed the role of Office Administrator. Big thanks to all our Vision Partners for making this dream a reality in helping to fulfill a need that will support our efforts to grow and be the best we can be for the work of our Lord.
Christmas Day 2018 brightened children's lives in ways you wouldn't imagine!
As we wrapped up our twelfth year of providing more than 8,000 presents on Christmas Day to over 960 deserving children, we continue to be in awe of our Lord Jesus’ blessings. Sincere and grateful thanks to hundreds of donors, partners, and volunteers who, through our Lord’s leading, made all this possible.

Where are your charity dollars going?
I
n 2018, we continued to follow our Lord’s leading, surpassing $1.1 million dollars of support to approximately 9,000 hurting children and their families. A breakdown of support provided by case and by hospital is given here.

I
n 2018 Christ's Starfish Foundation served a total of
227 families with $77,953.79 of support.
This represents a 21% increase of families served!
We serve a mighty God and HE has made all this possible. Sincere thanks to each of you for your generous support of HIS work at Christ's Starfish Foundation.

Our
VISION PROGRAM
was initiated in 2016 to raise funds for our staffing needs. To date it has grown to include more than
260 VISION PARTNERS!
We praise The Lord for this growth and related annual commitments totaling $44,000!
A $10 per month, or $120 per year donation is all it takes to make an impact in Christ's name.

2018 CHARITY GOLF EVENTS
Indiana Tournament- Winchester, IN
The Indiana Chapter of Christ’s Starfish Foundation held their 2
nd annual golf outing on July 21 at the Winchester Golf Club. Despite threat of rain, more than 80 golfers teed off and enjoyed what turned out to be a great day of golf, food and fellowship. Thankfully, the rain held off - Praise the Lord!
A big, big thank you goes out to our Corporate Sponsor, Whitinger & Company of Muncie, Indiana and all the donors and hole sponsors. Sincere and grateful thanks to the volunteers who made this event a success. We are happy to report that the tournament and silent auction raised more than $11,000 to support our work at Riley Children’s Hospital and Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis, along with Lutheran Children’s Hospital in Fort Wayne. PLEASE MAKE PLANS TO JOIN US for this year’s outing, scheduled for July 20, 2019.

Results from our 2018 Brasstown Valley Celebrity Tournament, Young Harris, GA
Our “Swing for The Kids” Celebrity Golf Tournament at Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa exceeded our expectations. This was our fourth year at Brasstown and featured a Harlem Globe Trotters “Sweet Georgia Brown” exhibition, a new partnership with the Atlanta NFL Alumni Charities, and the high-energy, good time music of Banks & Shane. It was truly a blessed event raising over $26,000 to support our work at the Atlanta Children’s Hospitals.

Our 2018
Thank You Dinners
were a true success. These events gave Christ’s Starfish Foundation the opportunity to share our Lord’s calling and the work that has been done by providing support for hospitalized children and their families. The Dinners also allowed us to thank, show our appreciation, and share our “Vision” for the future. In doing so we are honoring Jesus Christ and all He has called us to do for hurting children.
