INDIANA GOLF OUTING
July 20, 2019 -- WINCHESTER, IN
The Indiana Chapter of Christ’s Starfish Foundation held their 3rd annual golf outing on July 20, 2019 at the Winchester Golf Club. On a very hot and humid day, more than 90 golfers teed off and enjoyed a great day of golf, food and fellowship.
A huge THANK YOU goes out to our Corporate Sponsor, WHITINGER AND COMPANY, of Muncie, Indiana and all the auction item donors and hole sponsors. Obviously, we cannot achieve our mission without their support. A big “Thank You” must go out to all the people who participated in the outing and purchased items in the auction. A special thank you goes to the volunteers who make this event a success. The tournament and silent auction raised over $10,500 to support our mission for the children at Riley Children’s Hospital and Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis and Lutheran Children’s Hospital in Fort Wayne. We look forward to an even bigger event in July, 2020.
BRASSTOWN DINNER & GOLF TOURNAMENT August 2 & 3, 2019 – BRASSTOWN VALLEY RESORT, GA
Our 5th annual “Swing for the Kids” Celebrity Golf Tournament was held at Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa in Young Harris, GA. The event was kicked off on Friday night with dinner and a silent auction. The auction featured over 80 items. Once again Banks & Shane provided a wonderful evening of entertainment. We also enjoyed a fun time while legendary Harlem Globetrotters, Gator Rivers and Hollywood Brown dazzled us with their basketball skills to the tune of “Sweet Georgia Brown.”
On Saturday morning, 85 golfers teed off to what turned out to be a beautiful day. Each team was paired with a celebrity. We would like to thank Gus Williams for once again arranging all the celebrities. The golf tournament was followed by a cookout of hamburgers, bar-b-que pork and all the fixings.
For the 5
th
consecutive year the tournament was sponsored by Jim Walters Management Company, Coral Hospitality, and Brasstown Valley Resort and Spa. Without these partners, as well as the incredible leadership team in Atlanta, this event would not be possible.
The event raised over $23,000 that will go to support the patients and families at three children’s hospitals in Atlanta: Eggleston, Scottish Rite, and Hughes Spalding.
