Announcements & Upcoming Events

CHANGES TO MASS REGISTRATION: We will be discontinuing the registration process for Mass through Eventbrite. Christ the King University Parish operates as facility of King’s University College and also has a unique location within The Chapel at Windermere on the Mount. We are bound by the policies of King’s and committed to the safety of the residents at Windermere as we interpret the guidelines for worship from the Diocese of London. With this being said, the following precautions remain in place.
-
VACCINATION is still required for all who are participating in gatherings of our community (events, mass, trips, retreats etc.) according to the policy of the University of Western and its affiliates. If you come to campus, you may still be required to show proof of vaccination.
-
MASKS are required at all times unless you are eating.
-
DISTANCING, while not technically required, is highly encouraged. Please respect the fact that there will be differing levels of comfort and people may need more space. Take time and space in the communion line and use the floor markers as a reminder.
-
SELF SCREENING continues. We are still in a pandemic and we rely on you to stay home if you are unwell. Please read the signs at the entrances and consult with staff if you are unsure.
-
ACCESS to the Chapel at Windermere on the Mount is still restricted. All visitors must continue to use the side entrance until the visitor policy changes for the retirement home.

Perishable items such as sandwiches or cheese can be dropped off at the back door of the hospitality centre between 11 AM and 11:45 AM on Saturday May 14. REFUGEE ASSISTANCE: We are looking for people who can assist with settling and orienting new refugees connected to our community. St. Peter’s Seminary and the Sisters of St. Joseph have been ‘surprised’ with four new adult refugees from Congo – this has been 10 years in the making and they are now here! Praise God! However, they now have immediate need for housing. Volunteers to assist with settlement are also needed because of the timing of their arrival.
As well, as you may be aware, we are anticipating the arrival of our last sponsored family of five from Syria this summer. We will need a small group of volunteers to work with their extended local family to ensure their smooth transition to life in Canada. Please let Deacon Jim know if you are able and willing to assist with either of these situations.

CONGRATULATIONS are extended to Isabel Fonseca Bejarano, daughter of Nestor and Jennifer Berjarano; to Violet Dumouchel, daughter of Matthew and Amanda Dumouchel; to Noah Russell, son of Robert Russell and Erin Circelli-Russell; to Hannah Kowalski, daughter of Anna Kowalski; and to Aaliyah Brodt, daughter of Jamy and Angela Brodt, as they receive First Communion today. We pray Isabel, Violet, Noah, Hannah, and Aaliyah grow in the wisdom and knowledge of the Lord and that their families provide them with a witness of God’s love throughout their lives.

We acknowledge that King’s University College is located on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabek, Haudenosaunee, Lūnaapéewak and Chonnonton peoples,
on lands connected with the London Township and Sombra Treaties of 1796 and the Dish

This land continues to be home to diverse Indigenous peoples whom we recognize as contemporary stewards of the land and vital contributors of our society.
