CBS Undergoes LCAP Assessment
Christian Brothers School underwent a four-day Lasallian Catholic Assessment Process (LCAP) in mid-January with a six-member panel from throughout the San Francisco New Orleans (SFNO) district of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, which operates CBS.
LCAP is an internal/external review process conducted by a school, together with a visiting team of Lasallian educators, that focuses on supporting and strengthening the school's Lasallian Catholic identity by assessing the overall effectiveness of its programs, practices, and culture in light of core principles of Lasallian schools.
LCAP takes place once every six years at each District school. In a report to the faculty and staff, president Joey Scaffidi, AFSC, reported that
the LCAP survey results were among the highest in the district: "The listening sessions with the various constituents affirmed the survey results. Furthermore, the results are consistent among students, parents and faculty. The takeaway is that the CBS community is pleased with the educational experience we all share - from those who are on the receiving end, to those who deliver it, to those who pay for it," he added.
According to the preliminary report delivered to the board of trustees at the conclusion of the assessment, the LCAP team did not find any problems, only areas where a wonderful school can become even better, he said.
Members of the LCAP visiting team included, from left, Bob Carrejo, director of the SFNO Office of Communications; Lis Castellano, director of the De La Salle Program, Mullen High School, Denver; facilitator John Roberto, president of Lifelong Faith Associates and a national consultant in faith formation; Charlie Legendre, director of the SFNO Office of Evangelization and Catechesis; Brother Nick Gonzalez, FSC, SFNO assistant visitor, and Jessica Atwood, director of admissions, De La Salle High School, New Orleans.
