It's Christmas Time at CBS

A beautiful Nativity scene greets guests to the parlor at Christian Brothers School's City Park campus. This year's crèche and pastoral village is a two-family effort: The Sisk family
(Sam, 7P) provided the backdrop, which extends approximately 10-feet wide, and the Tullier family added roughly 100 pieces of Fontanini figurines, stables, village houses and more. CBS secretary Karen Tullier has been collecting Fontanini pieces since 1987 (some she was able to salvage after Hurricane Katrina) for our enjoyment this season.

Have a Merry and Blessed Christmas

'One Call, Many Voices' Is Theme

The Lasallian theme for the 2016-2017 liturgical year is "One Call, Many Voices," and Brother Tim Coldwell, FSC., general councilor for the Lasallian Region of North America in the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, presented reflections on the theme during a gathering of Lasallian educators from New Orleans area schools held at the St. Anthony campus school auditorium.

The two global trends that we draw attention to in the Lasallian Reflection for this theme are "sustaining spirituality amidst secularization" and a "new way of being Church."
The Lasallian Reflection asserts, "One of our critical roles as Lasallian educators is to help adolescents and young adults to understand one another and to discern the one call of God: a provident God, at work in the fabric of reality." It further invites us into a dialogue in the midst of culture's many voices.
