The Marriage Course, hosted by Nicky and Sila Lee,
Facilitated by Becky and Randy Camden
Wednesdays on Zoom 6:45-8:15 pm
beginning September 15 for 7 weeks
Today we are facing a global crisis when it comes to families. Marriages are under more pressure than ever. There is an urgent need to invest in marriage and family life, for strong societies are built on strong families, and strong families are built on strong marriages. The Marriage Course, developed by Nicky and Sila Lee of Alpha, is a DVD film series that provides practical tools to help couples at every stage of their relationship.

A journal is required for each participant and is available for purchase at $7 each and can be found in the office workroom. Each couple will work together on their individual journals in the privacy of their home. Time will be provided during the class for the couples to discuss with each other points made on the video/journal. This 7-week Zoom course is facilitated by Becky and Randy Camden and will be held on Wednesday evenings 6:45 – 8:15 pm, beginning September 15.
Email Deb Broadwater or call 703 309-6149 to register.
Mysteries of the Messiah, Unveiling Divine Connections from Genesis to Today,
by Rabbi Jason Sobel, hosted by Jackie McKeown
Thursdays on Zoom, 7:00-8:00 pm
beginning September 9 for 6 weeks

In Mysteries of the Messiah, Rabbi Jason Sobel, raised in a Jewish home in New Jersey but now a follower of Jesus, pulls back the curtain to show the many connections in Scripture hidden in plain sight. He guides his readers from the story of creation through Revelation to see the passion and purpose of the Messiah, the Torah, and several of the patriarchs and prophets. God’s Word, written by many people over thousands of years, is not a random selection of people and stories – they have an intricate connection.

This 6-week Zoom class will be facilitated by Jackie McKeown, on Thursday evenings, from 7:00-8:00 pm beginning September 9.
A copy of the Study Guide is available for purchase in the office workroom for $9.
Email Deb Broadwater or call 703 309-6149 to register.
Canoeing in the Mountains, Christian Leadership
in Uncharted Territory by Tod Bolsinger
Hosted by Matt Uselton
Sundays at 9:45 am
beginning September 12 for 7 weeks

Like Lewis and Clark, who had to adapt while trying to find a waterway to the Pacific Ocean, but instead found themselves in the Rocky Mountains, we too may feel that we are leading in a cultural context we were not expecting. Drawing from his extensive experience as a pastor and consultant, Tod Bolsinger brings decades of expertise in guiding churches and organizations through uncharted territory. If we are going to scale the mountains of ministry, we need to leave behind canoes and find new navigational tools.

Matt Uselton will facilitate this 7-week class in Room 112 beginning Sunday, September 12, at 9:45 am. You will need a copy of this book which is available online at Amazon, Christian Bookstore and Cokesbury. No registration necessary.
The Lectionary Class
Sundays at 9:45 am

This class studies the Old and New Testament Bible passages that go along with the church calendar and the Bible lectionary schedule. Class members take turns leading the class and it meets Sundays in Room 106 at 9:45 am. No registration necessary.
Why Should I take Disciple?
It sounds like a big commitment!
Disciple Bible Studies do require a big commitment of time and faithfulness. Most participants find that their knowledge and understanding of the Bible increases dramatically, but they also find their lives being transformed by the power of God working through God’s Word and the support, encouragement, and challenge of the group.
If you are interested in taking a Disciple class this fall, please contact the church office or the facilitator of the class. Remember, you are encouraged to take Disciple I before taking subsequent classes. See descriptions of each class below:
Disciple I: Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study will be held on Thursday mornings in Room 106 from 9:15 to 11:15, beginning September 16.
