Christian Light School was fully open on Monday!!! Praise the Lord!!!!!!!!!

Not long ago, it looked impossible to save Christian Light School.  But - we are open.  Our students arrived on Monday full of enthusiasm and glad to be here.  This is a very happy school!  Praise the Lord!!!!!!!!!

The Classrooms are busy places

Everyone has started with so much enthusiasm!  So much activity everywhere.   Praise the Lord!!!!!!!!!

We Teach Patriotism

Our students meet in the school yard each morning.  They sing a hymn, pray, and sing the national anthem.  Two students raise the flag while the others sing the national anthem. Praise the Lord!!!!!!!!!

New Administration

Mr. Olritch is our school principal.  In the photo, he is teaching our staff how to use the new time clock that recognizes your fingerprint.  Praise the Lord!!!!!!!!!

Mr. Dorlus is our disciplinarian.  That sounds rather harsh, but he is a big teddy bear.  However, he watches to see what is going on all the time and is constantly checking on the classrooms.  Keeping everyone on schedule and the school in good order makes for happier students and teachers.  Praise the Lord!!!!!!!!!

Our Babyfeeders never missed a beat.

Our babies are very important.  The baby feeders continued all summer to go down to the ravine and feed our little ones.  Praise the Lord!!!!!!!!!

Some Fun Facts

The salt man sells salt from his wheelbarrow. The bean man delivered 3 sacks of beans on his bean wheelbarrow.  Wheelbarrows are very popular in Haiti.  The men know to come about lunchtime because our cooks feed them.  Praise the Lord!!!!!!!!!

Our boys are back!!!!!

Maykenley and Jonky are back at CLS.  Everyone was so happy to see them come back!  There were so many hugs!!!

Jonky and Maykenley were in another school last year, but CLS is harder than other schools.  The boys were tested today to make sure they are in the right class.  We want them to be happy and successful. 

 Praise the Lord!!!!!!!!!

The A Beka Program

The main thing that makes Christian Light School better than other schools is the A Beka curriculum. A Beka is a level above American public school textbooks and it is Biblically correct  curriculum.  They get Bible characters in their math books.   Praise the Lord!!!!!!!

The A Beka program was dropped last year. The teachers are working hard to teach English again. They understand how important this part of our school program is.   Praise the Lord!!!!!!!

This place is a miracle!!!!

Four months ago, it was impossible for me to come back to Christian Light School - but here I am.  That is a miracle. 

Praise the Lord!!!!!!!

The parents of our students gave me a plaque to celebrate my returning to Haiti and to CLS.  Praise the Lord!!!!!!!  If I had not come back, this school would have been closed in June

We still have some battles to fight.  I was warned in early June about threats to kill me.  A week later, my Italian neighbor was suddenly ambushed and killed for now apparent reason.  Everyone thought they got the wrong missionary.  Since then, I have had neighborhood and police protection.

Then, Mr. Olritch and I were threatened with being arrested on false charges of he and I being gang leaders with big guns.  The judge looked at me and rejected the accusation.

Why do I tell you about this?  Because now, one of the leaders of the parent group has been threatened.  And I don't know who all else. This has got to stop!!!  Please be in prayer for our safety and the security of the school.  This is a Spiritual battle!!

They will not stop us. The Lord put me here.  The people want me to stay.  I am here and I will stay here. I will not abandon this school to see it destroyed.  Our name is Christian Light School and we are a light in this nation.  We seem to have a reputation all over Haiti as that school that does not charge tuition and gives an excellent education.  A former student was offered a job based simply on the fact he was a CLS graduate. 

Maybe, someday, there will be excellent free schools all over Haiti. 

Wouldn't that be WONDERFUL!!!  Praise the Lord!!!!!!!
