'How Great Thou Art':

American Idol Puts Spotlight on Jesus With 3-Hour Easter Special. Stirring Performances by Carrie Underwood,

Brandon Lake & CeCe Winans

<<American Idol used its prime-time TV program on Easter Sunday to put the focus clearly on Jesus Christ.

<<The "Top 24" hopeful contestants, judges Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan, and Carrie Underwood along with 17-time Grammy Award-winner CeCe Winans, five-time Grammy Award-winner Brandon Lake, Grammy Award-nominated Jelly Roll, all gave glory to God on Easter Sunday.

<<Richie kicked off the three-hour "Songs of Faith" special with his 2009 inspirational song "Eternity."

<<Then, 17-year-old aspiring preacher, Canaan James Hill, took the stage and delivered a rousing rendition of "Better Days" by Atlanta gospel singer Le'Andria Johnson.

<<One of Sunday night's biggest performances was by worship artist Brandon Lake and Grammy-nominated artist Jelly Roll, who is currently serving as the show's first-ever "Artist In Residence." The pair teamed up to perform their collaborative hit "Hard Fought Hallelujah."

<<Lake admitted to the judges that he was always afraid to audition for Idol, but felt it was an honor to be on the stage.

<<"I've been waiting for this day," Lake said, adding, "I can't tell you how nerve-wracking it is to be in front of your, like, heroes. It's absolutely insane."

<<"Collaborating with Jelly Roll on 'Hard Fought Hallelujah' was powerful because we both understand what it's like to walk through battles and still choose to lift a song of hope," Lake previously shared. The two will also be performing the song this Thursday on Jimmy Kimmel.

<<"My prayer is that this song reminds people not to give up—that even in the hardest seasons, there's growth, purpose, and a victory worth singing about," Jelly Roll added.

<<Carrie Underwood closed out the night with a stunning performance of the timeless hymn "How Great Thou Art."

<<The song was featured on her Grammy-winning album, "My Savior."

Katy Nichole is ready for Honest Conversations

Katy Nichole's song, "When I Fall" from her new CD, "Honest Conversations,"

is up three spots to #5 on this week's Billboard's CCM charts.

<<There’s something authentic about watching someone wrestle with their faith in real time. Not staged. Not filtered. Just honesty. That’s exactly what Katy Nichole is offering on her forthcoming sophomore album, "Honest Conversations"—and it might be her most vulnerable move yet.

<<The 24-year-old breakout star, who seemed to appear fully formed with 2023’s "Jesus Changed My Life," is no stranger to the charts. Her debut spawned three No. 1 radio hits, a Platinum-certified anthem (“In Jesus Name”), and enough momentum to launch her into the stratosphere of Christian music. But even as her star rose, the internal battles never stopped. And now, she’s singing through them.

<<“When I wrote ‘Honest Conversations,’ it was me wrestling with my relationship with God,” Katy says, speaking with the kind of openness that makes you lean in. “If I’m so loved by God, why do I still have this much pain? I look in the mirror and don’t like who I see… and it feels like there are a lot of moments I can’t find Him.”

MISSISSIPPI

MASS CHOIR

Only One Way Home

(Mississippi Mass Choir's "Only One Way Home from "We Still Believe" is at #1 for the second straight week on Billboard's Gospel Music charts)

<<A Legacy of Faith and Authenticity

<<When the Mississippi Mass Choir gathered at Word of Life Church in Flowood, Mississippi, for their latest live recording, there was a palpable sense of history and hope in the air. The choir, now celebrating 35 years of ministry, was preparing to release their 11th album, "We Still Believe" — a project that would reaffirm their commitment to spreading the gospel through song and community.

<<Stan Jones, the album’s producer, reflected on the journey: “It’s been challenging yet fun capturing the upcoming project. I’m honored to serve with the Mass, and I believe the best is yet to come.”

<<Jones emphasized the importance of authenticity, striving to channel the spirit and sound that made the choir a staple in gospel music since its founding by Frank Williams in 1988. “Authenticity is what you think it is,” Jones explained, “and the ability to capture who they were and still are to this day is what I love so much about this choir.”

<<The title track, “We Still Believe,” features gospel luminary Brian Courtney Wilson and resonates with a message of unwavering faith amid adversity. During the live performance, Wilson led the choir and congregation in a powerful affirmation:

<<“People are broke, people are burdened, joy has been stolen, and we’re wondering how…but we know God will fix it, however He chooses. We still believe.”

<<"Another standout from the album is the $1 single, “Only One Way Home,” featuring gospel legend Paul Porter. The song delivers a clear and uncompromising message:

<<For Porter, singing with the Mississippi Mass Choir was a dream fulfilled: “One of my dreams was to sing with the Mississippi Mass Choir. As a special guest on ‘Only One Way Home,’ the dream came true.”

<<Co-writer and lead singer Benjamin “Benji” Cone III described the song as a return to roots: “The song takes you straight to that small wooden church in Mississippi where the choir used to march. The infectious sound of the vocals, foot stomping, hand clapping, and New Orleansesque trombone permeates the walls, inviting listeners outside the church walls to join in and sing along.”

Author

JOEL C. ROSENBERG

Talks About His New Book,

"The Beijing Betrayal."...Says He Believes a Chinese Invasion of Taiwan Could Trigger WW3

Bestselling Christian author

Joel C. Rosenberg's latest book,

“The Beijing Betrayal” a Marcus Ryker novel, entered this month's

Top 50 Christian Best Seller's List

at #6. It debuted at #1 on their

Christian Fiction best seller's list.

<<Joel C. Rosenberg shared insights into his latest and final Marcus Ryker thriller, "The Beijing Betrayal," revealing the high stakes and intricate political intrigue that define the novel. "This is the conclusion to the Marcus Ryker series, where the elite CIA operative is racing against time to stop a terror network and a looming Chinese invasion," Rosenberg explained.

<<The best selling author described the plot as a tense interplay of global threats: "After a significant terrorist attack in Chicago, Marcus discovers a lab in Pakistan working on a deadly virus. The explosion there sets off a chain of events that Washington is scrambling to understand, while China prepares to assert dominance in the Pacific by invading Taiwan." <<He emphasized how the story connects terrorism and geopolitical strategy: "China sees the U.S. distracted by the terror threat as the perfect opportunity to dismantle American supremacy in the Pacific. It’s a story full of ‘carrot and stick’ politics, thrill, and global aspirations".

<<"I wanted to show the psychological and physical burnout that comes with prolonged high-pressure situations, but also the power of faith and companionship".

<<"Look, President Trump is really tough on China. He's good on China, but I don't think he's doing enough to strengthen our alliance with Taiwan or give them enough weapons to make sure that they would be a deterrent factor that China, Beijing, wouldn't try to invade," he said.

<<When asked what he wants people to take away from the book, Rosenberg said, "First, I just want them to have a rip roaring, exciting, entertaining ride. And so, where they're up all night and these chapters, they're short, they're intense cliffhanger endings. They're like Pringles, you can't eat just one. But I also want to educate. I want to warn Communist China is a major threat, not only to the United States and our allies in the Pacific, but China's building a very dangerous strategic alliance with the Iranian regime."

<<And that makes China's communist regime a serious threat to Israel and the Jewish people. He hopes the Trump administration, Congress, and Israeli leadership make it a priority to counter the range of threats from Beijing before it's too late.

SAVANNAH GUTHRIE's

kids interview her about faith and her new children's book, "Mostly What God Does

Is Love You."

<<TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie's book “Mostly What God Does is Love You" teaches kids about faith and God.

<<Savannah's kids, Vale, 10, and Charley, 8, are big fans of her new book.

<<The novel, which debuted this month on The Christian Booksellers' Top Children's Books list at #3, teaches kids about God's love and grace. It's also the children's version of Savannah's 2024 #1 book titled, "Mostly What God Does: Reflections on Seeking and Finding His Love Everywhere."

<<On TODAY, Vale interviewed her mom about the novel and learned how Savannah's special relationship with God began.

<<"I do remember talking to God when I was your age. I remember saying my prayers. I remember asking to not get a bad grade on a test or asking for a certain present for Christmas," Savannah shared with her daughter.

<<"But I also remember talking to God about my fears and my worries, and I guess that's why it's so important for me to tell you and Charley about him because I'm hoping you're having a conversation, too," she continued.

<<Vale later asked her mom why it's important for Savannah to teach her kids about God. She responded that "God has always been a really big part of my life" and has helped her out at times when she felt alone.

<<"I could always call God, and so I feel like, if I can tell you about the God that I know that loves you so much, that you'll carry him in your heart just the way I have all my life, and that that will always be with you," Savannah said.

<<Throughout the interview, clips played of Vale and Charley reading their mother's book. Charley was also seen waving to his mom on the monitor and helping Vale put her mic on.

15 Best Work-From-Home Jobs You Can Apply for Today

<<Work-from-home jobs have exploded in popularity over the past few years, and Americans’ enthusiasm for remote work is still going strong.

<<It’s easy to see why: The best work-from-home jobs can offer flexible hours, freedom to travel, and nonexistent commutes. And believe it or not, people still get work done. In fact, a recent survey found that 40% of employees report their productivity feeling higher than in the office.

<<If that sounds appealing, maybe it’s time to make a working-from-home gig permanent. So, let’s look at 15 examples of work-from-home jobs you can start applying for today.

Best Work-From-Home Jobs

Making Prayer a Priority in Your Marriage

By Jim Daly,

President of Focus on the Family

<<German pastor, Dietrich Bonhoeffer once called praying together the heartbeat of the Christian community.

<<It’s true for marriage, too.

<<Married couples are designed for intimacy. Yet, like Adam and Eve in the garden, they often hide from God and each other. Some couples avoid intimacy because it feels safer than risking exposure and shame. But long-term, hiding has the opposite effect. Instead of feeling more loved, we feel more lost. Instead of feeling more accepted, we feel more alone.

<<How can couples break free from isolation and connect with each other?

<<Married couple Ryan and Selena Frederick. authors of the books, "40 Prayers for My Wife: Drawing Near to God for the Woman You Love" and "40 Prayers for My Husband: Drawing Near to God for the Man You Love," answer, “Prayer. Specifically, praying together.” Prayer opens the door for grace and truth in a relationship. The more grace and truth a couple has the better they’ll be at dealing compassionately yet honestly with each other’s limitations. Where there is honesty, there is the potential for solutions and healing.

<<Ryan and Selena joined Focus on the Family with Jim Daly to share about how they initiated and navigate what they call a “lights on and windows and doors open” policy to their marriage. That means no secrets, no hidden pasts, and a present commitment to creating a relationship of safety where they can talk openly about their mistakes, shame, and pain.
