8 Types of Insurance You

Can’t Go Without

<<Insurance...it can feel complicated and confusing. You just want to make sure your family is taken care of, but then you start running into a bunch of insurance jargon—the options start running together. It seems like the insurance companies make it as difficult as possible to make sure you have the right coverage without paying more than you need to. And, don’t forget all the insurance gimmicks and rip-offs you have to watch out for!

<<It can all be a little bit overwhelming, huh? But don’t worry. Even though insurance can <<be hard to understand, you can still make smart, informed decisions. You just need to know which types of policies you need.

<<Let’s go over 8 types of insurance you can’t go without. That way, you’ll be prepared to make the best choices for you and your family. And don’t worry, we’ll break everything down and make it all easy to understand!

<<Before we break down all those different types of insurance, here’s something important to remember: The purpose of insurance is to transfer financial risk you can’t handle yourself to an insurance provider. It should only serve as shield for when something bad happens that, without a good insurance policy, could wipe you out financially—like a hospital stay, a house fire or getting sued after a car accident.

Author

JOSHUA GILES

Talks About His #1 Book,

"When God Speaks"

Thrive in Uncertain Times and Gain Confidence for Your Future

Bestselling Christian author Joshua Giles' latest book, When God Speaks”

Thrive In Uncertain Times and Gain Confidence For Your Future,

entered this month's

Top 50 Christian Best Seller's List at #1. It debuted at #8 on the

New York Times Best Seller List.

<<Pastor Joshua Giles firmly believes that God continues to speak today. “When you are in true relationship with someone, there is conversation. Communication is not a one-sided experience. Communication is not only speaking, but also hearing as you are being spoken to,” he says. “I am totally convinced that God still speaks today – through the sacred Scriptures of the Bible.” He also believes that there are a number of other modes through which God speaks, namely, through an audible voice, an impression on the heart, other people, and with signs, visions, and various types of dreams.

<<Joshua offers a number of steps to sharpen our ability to hear from God, such as: pray and ask the Lord what’s on His heart for you, praise and worship Him and read a Scripture from the Bible that speaks to your spirit. After those steps, stop and listen quietly in His presence, write down what you hear Him saying to you. Then, ask yourself, “Does what I heard agree with the Bible?” God will never speak contrary to His written Word.

<<Joshua has great hope for the younger generation. “I believe that the Body of Christ is entering the day of the next generation. This is a time where the up-and-coming generation of the world will begin to emerge with a passion and a zeal for the things of God,” he says. “Take a more in-depth look at how God wants to use young people powerfully today: ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams.’ (Acts 2:17)

FK&M

Former Commissioned Members Fred Hammond, Keith Staton and Marcus Cole Reunite At The Top

of the Gospel Charts

(FKM's "Change Your Mind" from "Time Capsule: The Trilogy" is at #1 this week on Billboard's Gospel Music charts)

<<Fred Hammond, Keith Staten, and Marcus Cole sat together reminiscing about their journey to forming FK&M. Their conversation was candid, filled with laughter, moments of reflection, and a shared sense of purpose.

<<Fred Hammond: "You know, people think this was some grand plan we had all along. But, honestly, it wasn’t. I heard folks saying I was ‘poaching’ you guys, trying to pull you out of your own things. That couldn’t be further from the truth. We just... found our way back to each other naturally."

<<Keith Staten: "Yeah, Fred, you and I always stayed in touch over the years. We talked about life, music... even tried to fix some things that just couldn’t be fixed back then. But it wasn’t about plotting anything. It was more about timing and realizing we still had something powerful to share together."

<<Marcus Cole: "Man, Fred and I didn’t even speak for a while after what we called a ‘sharp disagreement.’ No harsh words or anything—just different visions at the time. But when we reconnected at Carleen’s funeral... that moment was pivotal for me. It wasn’t forced. It was just... right."

<<The three paused for a moment as if replaying those memories in their minds.

<<Fred: "That funeral... yeah, it brought a lot of things into perspective for me, too. When Mitch asked me to come on stage, I wasn’t sure how it would go down—whether there’d be tension or openness—but when I saw Marcus and Keith there, something clicked. It felt like God was nudging us toward reconciliation."

<<Keith: "And then I sent Marcus that YouTube clip of Fred’s podcast. I told him he needed to watch it—not just for the stories but because it showed a side of Fred we hadn’t seen before. Vulnerable, real... it hit differently."

<<Marcus: "Man, when I watched that clip, I saw something in Fred that resonated deeply with me. It wasn’t just about music anymore; it was about healing and moving forward. That’s when I texted him—just to clear the air and say there was nothing but love between us."

<<Fred leaned back in his chair with a smile.

<<Fred: "That text you sent, Marcus? It caught me on a day when I really needed to hear it. Honest repentance—it’s powerful. And that moment became the glue for what we’re doing now."

<<Keith: "Exactly. This wasn’t just about making music; it was about creating something meaningful—something that could uplift people and bring them closer to God."

<<Marcus: "And let’s not forget the fun we’ve been having! The harmonies we’ve been working on? Man, they’re next-level. It feels like everything we’ve been through individually has prepared us for this moment as FK&M."

<<The room buzzed with energy as they continued sharing stories about their journey—how their individual paths had shaped them and how their reunion felt like divine timing.

<<Fred: "We’re not just here to make music; we’re here to make an impact. FK&M is about blending our unique styles into something that speaks to people’s souls. And honestly? I couldn’t imagine doing this with anyone else but you two."

<<Keith Staten & Marcus Cole (in unison): "Same here, brother."

Tribute Quartet's "Come On Let's Go to That Land" Reaches #1

<<Celebrated Southern Gospel group Tribute Quartet has once again captured the hearts of fans and industry insiders with their single "Come On Let's Go to That Land." Originally featured on their "Quartet Tribute: Volume One" album, the song has recently been revisited and re-released, propelling it to the top of the charts and reaffirming the group's enduring appeal, the group's 11th #1 song on the Singing News chart.

A Fan Favorite Reimagined

<<The decision to recut "Come On Let's Go to That Land" was born out of its resonance with audiences during live performances. Gus Gaches, one of the group's vocalists, explained, “We’ve always loved that song... it was one of the ones that we were the most excited about because it just always resonated live”. The energy and connection felt during performances motivated Tribute Quartet to bring new life to this classic track. Gaches added, “Once we got the recut, we were like, goodness, people need to hear this”.

An Unusual Approach

<<The re-release of an older song as a single is not a common practice in gospel music. Josh Singletary, baritone vocalist and pianist for the group, acknowledged this unconventional choice: “We actually decided to go with a single from Volume One of our Quartet Tribute series. "Come On Let’s Go to That Land," an old Rex Nelon song”. This decision was tied to their upcoming 2025 Quartet Tribute Tour, which aims to showcase their current lineup performing songs from earlier albums.

Chart-Topping Success

<<Since its re-release, "Come On Let's Go to That Land" has soared in popularity. Tribute Quartet’s dedication to honoring gospel traditions while infusing their music with fresh energy has clearly struck a chord with listeners. Their ability to revisit and elevate timeless songs demonstrates their commitment to both artistry and ministry. As fans and critics alike celebrate this achievement, Tribute Quartet continues to inspire generations with their message of hope and faith.

Looking Ahead

<<With their 2025 tour on the horizon and a string of successful releases under their belt, Tribute Quartet shows no signs of slowing down. Their passion for gospel music remains unwavering, as they continue to share songs that uplift and energize audiences worldwide. As Gaches put it best, “We’re excited about it—letting everybody hear it and experience what we’ve known for a while now. It’s great”

Inviting Your Child Into the Easter Story

By Jim Daly,

President of Focus on the Family

<<When Easter comes around every year, many people think of chocolate, decorative eggs and rabbits carrying baskets. As Christians, we know there’s a lot more to the story. Jesus’ triumphal parade. His last supper with His disciples. His brutal death on the cross. His bodily resurrection.

<<The events surrounding the Easter story can evoke a complicated mix of emotions – sadness and joy, anger and gratitude, fear and trust, mature themes that can be challenging for adults to process.

<<Imagine how your children must feel.

<<To discuss how to share the significance of the Easter story with your children and to help them explore and process the powerful emotions evoked during Holy Week, I’ve invited Dr. Josh Straub and Christi Straub to be my guests on Focus on the Family with Jim Daly.

<<Hear how to have meaningful conversations with your children about their emotions and how to connect those emotions to biblical truth on your local radio station, online, on Apple Podcasts, or take us with you on our free phone app.

<<Josh and Christi Straub are founders of Famous at Home, a ministry dedicated to helping families live, love, and lead well.
