Lauren Daigle is excited. Here new single, "Thank God I Do," reached #1 on Billboard's CCM charts for the first time this week.

The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter has been teasing her upcoming self-titled album for months, and now it’s finally here. Lauren has said that this album is a reflection of her personal journey over the past few years, and it’s full of everything fans have come to know and love about Daigle’s music: vulnerability, honesty and hope.

In a recent interview with RELEVANT, Daigle talked about her new album, how she used a difficult season of life to write inspiring songs of hope, and how she’s stepping in to a “new beginning.”

"We started writing it in October of 2020, so there was a lot of influence there. You know what was going on in the world... the intensities of the time. And I feel like I had to have this rebirth, this new beginning. I feel like a lot of the songwriters who made their way into my world at that time, it was very intentional. I can see now, looking back, how God had orchestrated the right people at the right time. Because I was in a season where I felt completely powerless, completely voiceless because of the the state of the world at the time.

"And also, because of things that were taking place in my personal life.
"He surrounded me with people who were so confident. They use their voice for the right things. They knew who they were. They weren’t intimidated by the world. And I don’t think that was coincidental. And these people really helped me come alive. I feel like those are some of the themes that presented themselves on this record and kind of brought me through quite an incredible musical journey."

LENA BYRD MILES
On The “Divine Randomness” of Her Career and Her #1 Gospel Song, "W.O.W. (Walk On Water)"
Lena Byrd Miles' single "WOW (Walk On Water)" is in it's third week at #1 on Billboard's Gospel Music charts...the first single from her album, "Brand New."

"Walk On Water," is to step out of your own way; letting fears, pride, excuses, and lies we tell ourselves bagged up in that "stinking thinking" space go and choosing to step into BIG faith mode," shares Lena. "It is walking by faith, letting the Lord lead, while doing what's necessary to carry out your purpose and accomplishing all God ordained for you to do," she adds.

One of the most sought-after vocalists in contemporary gospel, Lena's soulful and extraordinary vocal prowess has caught the attention of musicians and artists alike. She has shared the stage with Tye Tribbett, Lalah Hathaway, Deitrick Haddon, Dorinda, John P. Kee, Doobie Powell, the late Thomas "TC" Clay, and more. She was also part of the legendary Edwin Hawkins as part of the New Edwin Hawkins Singers-where it all began.

"My mother and father raised me in the church, so, yes…I’m that antiquated tale of singing in the choir as a child to ultimately becoming a mainstream Gospel artist. As a matter of fact, my parents are still active and serving in the church ’til this day."

"Back in 2015, my father was diagnosed with kidney disease. Strikingly, he accepted the diagnosis as his fate and peaceably began making funeral arrangements (mentally and spiritually). In a peculiar way, it was honorable, giving he was primed and absolutely fearless — even so, he’s my Daddy, and I didn’t want to see him go anytime soon — especially considering we (the family) knew he had a lot more life in him, if he were only to stand tall and fight the good fight.

"After numerous ear-chewings and an abundance of prayers, my dad elected to go through with dialysis and begin the intensive process of taking back his health.

"Now, in 2023, my father is alive and kicking pretty high! He’s an active voice in his church, and spends his days laughing robustly and getting on our nerves [giggles]! Seriously, though, my dad showed me that if you take one step towards God…He’ll take ten steps towards you. And, I cherish him for that."

Kristin Chenoweth’s
Near-Death Accident Helped Her Find "God’s Grace"
When the Tony and Emmy Award-winning actor Kristin Chenoweth was a guest star on The Good Wife back in 2012, a horrific accident on the set nearly cost her her life. A decade on, though, she has found a small silver lining—a renewed sense of her faith and a new attitude towards adversity.

Chenoweth had landed a recurring role in Season 4 of the Chicago-based legal drama series when the terrifying accident took place. “I heard, like, a flagpole sound. I literally heard, ‘We’re losing the light.’ I heard, ‘Action.’ And I woke up at Bellevue [Hospital],” Chenoweth recalled, according to Variety. A piece of lighting equipment had fallen and landed on her head. The actor ended up with “seven-inch skull fracture, a hairline fracture, cracked teeth and ribs”. She also almost died, as she explained in her memoir, "I’m No Philosopher, But I Got Thoughts."
“My head cracked against the curb, leaving a seven-inch gash that would have been worse, the doctor told me, if not for the tightly woven hair extensions that held my scalp together. That’s right. I owed what was left of my concussed brain to a well-placed line of hair extensions. Never — never — underestimate the power of a good weave.”

Kristen was raised in the Christian faith and launched her singing career at her church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. However, during her long recovery, she struggled not only physically, but also spiritually. “The big question of ‘Why God me?’ When you find yourself asking God, ‘Why me?’ you can also then turn around and ask yourself, ‘Why not you?’”

Ten years on from the accident, Chenoweth has come to see forgiveness as an act of service both to others and to herself. “I have started forgiving people that I feel have hurt me because I’m the one that’s hurting and that’s God’s grace,” she told Today. “He says, ‘See my child, if you’ve done this the whole time, you wouldn’t have carried that on your journey.’”

Atlanta Christian singer
Megan Danielle makes it into top 3 on 'American Idol' -
Finals On Sunday NIght
An outspoken Christian singer has made it into the top three on “American Idol” as viewers are slated to decide who will win the coveted title in less than a week.

Megan Danielle, whose Instagram page describes her as a “Christian Singer/Songwriter who wants to share the love of Jesus,” announced in a social media post on Sunday night that she had become one of the top three finalists on the reality TV singing competition “American Idol.” After noting that she was “so honored and grateful,” she proclaimed, “Let’s keep sharing the light and love of Jesus.”

Danielle has stressed the importance of her faith throughout her run on the 21st season of “American Idol,” dating back to her audition in Las Vegas, Nevada. She detailed how she had begun singing in bars as a young adult, prompting her beloved late grandfather to pull her aside and ask, “What are you doing baby? This isn’t what you’re supposed to be doing.” Danielle’s late grandfather pressed her to consider, “How can you sing for God and sing for this?”

Megan told the judges that her conversation with her late grandfather motivated her to embrace Christian music as her calling. As she performed “You Say” by “American Idol” alum Lauren Daigle, one of her revered musical influences, host Ryan Seacrest revealed to the audience that the Christian artist was planning on surprising the young singer. After Lauren showed up during Danielle’s audition to the delight and shock of the “American Idol” hopeful and the judges, the two performed “You Say” as an unplanned surprise duet.

Douglasville held a hometown parade for Megan on Tuesday followed by a concert at Douglas County High School.
“I’ve always dreamed of being a person someone could look up to and someone who is a believer in Jesus. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do,” Danielle said.

Megan is not the only outspoken Christian to experience a level of success in the current season of “American Idol.” Warren Peay, who serves on the Colston Branch Church worship team in South Carolina, made it to the top 8. As he performed “To The Table” by Christian musician Zach Williams during his audition, judge Katy Perry dubbed him the “Christian Chris Stapleton” due to his physical resemblance to the country singer in light of his long hair and beard.

Also making it to the top 8 was Haven Madison, who's father is Jason Roy, lead singer for the popular CCM group, Building 429. Roy, who was very visible in the audience throughout the season, just released a solo single, “It’s All Yours” on May 12.

The America Idol finals will be on ABC-TV this coming Sunday night.

JONATHAN CAHN
“Return Of The Gods”
Jonathan Cahn, is the New York Times best-selling author of 'The Harbinger,' 'The Paradigm,' 'The Book of Mysteries,' 'The Oracle' and 'The Harbinger II.'

Cahn’s ‘The Return of the Gods’ is back on the top ten books on the New York Times best-seller list. It’s reached #5 on The Wall Street Journal and #4 on Publishers Weekly in the past week, while climbing back up to the top 100 books sold on Amazon right now, charting as the #1 book in both the Christian spiritual growth and Jewish theology categories.

So, why does this book have so many people stirring for the truth?

People are seeing the reality of what Cahn shares in 'The Return of the Gods' as the truth. They are amazed by these biblical warnings coming to life in front of them. The evidence of a dark spiritual repossession is all around us, and people are waking up to the frightening reality that what we are seeing is not flesh and blood, but a supernatural power after our culture, children and our future.

This topic continued to captivate audiences when Cahn interviewed with Glenn Beck. Beck himself interviewed Cahn three times in less than a week on both television and radio. He had seen the demonic works raging in our world, which led him to implore audiences to take the time to listen to what Cahn had to say, believing that the mysteries behind the darkness in our world should be confronted.

Because of these evil forces, children and faculty were sadly lost in Nashville after being shot by a gunwoman. Cahn shared how the same entities he warns about in 'The Return of the Gods' contributed to this massacre.

“The Bible speaks of spirits,” Cahn said in a viral YouTube video on the shooting. “When they possess a person, they seek to remove the individual from his or her nature and purpose, whether that means their humanity, their gender, their sexuality, their personhood. That’s how they begin destroying him or her. The possessed person becomes a danger to others and to himself or herself, harming others, harming themselves.”

Protecting Your Kids
from Worldly Dangers
By Jim Daly, Focus on the Family
Technology offers children the world.
On the positive side, screens help with homework, teach new skills, and connect your child with friends and family.
But there are serious dangers, too. Pornography, predators, and destructive influences are always crouching at the door.
How can parents best love and protect their children when they’re younger and help them develop into young men and women of character?
Author Julie Lowe is with us on our Focus on the Family Broadcast “Protecting Your Kids from Worldly Dangers” to offer practical insight and advice.
She is a faculty member and licensed professional counselor at the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation. She’s also the author of the book Safeguards: Shielding Our Homes and Equipping Our Kids.
Julie says your loving influence will help your children:

  • Build respect and cooperation.
  • Create an atmosphere of deference and admiration.
  • Provide security.
  • Encourage a healthy dependence on parents for spiritual and emotional nurturing.
  • Model a reliance on wise counsel, especially from the Lord.
  • Display a proper respect for leadership and authority.

6 Myths About Retirement

Listen, we all want to build wealth and have the retirement of our dreams. But it’s not going to happen if we’re getting sidetracked by all the naysayers and the misinformation swirling around.

There are myths about retirement everywhere. Maybe your angry broke uncle thinks “the little man can’t get ahead” or your buddy shared some sketchy financial “advice” on social media (stick to funny dance videos, TikTok). No matter where they come from, those myths and lies could keep you from taking the steps you need to take to secure your retirement future.

So, get ready, because today we’re going to bust the top six retirement myths so you can start building the retirement of your dreams—right now.

Myth #1: I’ll Live Off Social Security Income
This is a common one . . . but relying on the government to take care of you in retirement is dumb with a capital D. Here’s the reality: Living off Social Security will only lead to social insecurity.

The problem is, there’s a huge gap between what future retirees think they’re going to receive from Social Security and what they’re actually going to get.
