ANNE WILSON

Testifies Through The Pain With “God Story”

(Anne WIlson's single, "God Story,"

the title track from her latest album, "Stars," is up one spot to #7 on Billboard's CCM charts)

<<“It’s been four years of releasing music and being in the Christian music industry and putting out stuff to the world,” Anne Wilson reflected. “I’ve done a lot of reflecting on my life as a whole, but specifically those last eight years of grief and loss and just getting to witness what God has done in my life has been incredible.”

<<As she talks about her hit single “God Story,” the memories turn personal and raw. “’God Story’ is so personal to me because it’s about those moments in life where you look back and think, "Only God could’ve brought me through that," she shares. "My entire life has been a ‘God Story’. My entire life, God has been writing a story that was far greater than anything I could have ever imagined.”

<<That story traces back to the heartbreak of losing her brother Jacob. “It was really, really painful,” Anne admits. “But in the midst of all of that, God started to open doors for me and started to show me what he was going to do with my life. And for me, it was getting to have a platform to share the gospel and to spread the love of Jesus.” Those open doors led from a viral funeral video to Nashville, a record deal, and now a new chapter of songs rooted in both sorrow and hope.

<<For Anne, “God Story," co-written with Matthew West and Jeff Pardo, is more than a diary entry set to music; it is an invitation. “It’s not just a personal song,” she explains. “It’s an invitation to other people to look at their own life and to see God write their own story and how He has been all along.”

<<She wants listeners to recognize that the same God who met her in the darkest nights is present in their ordinary Tuesdays and unexpected valleys too.

<<The song is one of 12 on Anne's album, "Stars." The Kentucky native delivers a coming-of-age collection that blends the grounded grit of country storytelling with the faith-filled light that has guided her journey.

<<“This past year, I’ve spent so much time writing and praying through new songs while reflecting on the incredible story God’s been writing with my life,” shares Wilson. “’Stars’ is the sound of surrender — of letting go of my own plans and stepping fully into His. Every song is a piece of my heart and a reminder of His faithfulness. I’m beyond excited to share that "The STARS Tour" is coming to cities across the country this fall — it’s going to be such a joy to sing these songs with all of you and celebrate this journey together!”

LISA KNOWLES-SMITH

Opens Up About Faith, Longevity, and the Message Behind "Promises"

(Lisa Knowles-Smith's single,

"Promises" from Revival (Live in Dallas), is at #1 on Billboard's Gospel Music charts for the second consecutive week)

<<Q: Your latest single, "Promises," has resonated powerfully with listeners and at the top of the charts. What was happening in your life spiritually and emotionally when this song was birthed?

<<Lisa: When "Promises" was birthed, I was in a very honest place with God, holding on to faith as I walked through moments that tested it. Spiritually, I was reminded that God's promises don't expire just because the season gets hard. There were prayers I was still waiting on, answers that hadn't come yet, but deep in my spirit, I knew God was still faithful.

<<Q: As an artist who leads with both faith and transparency, how do you know when a song is more than music and becomes a message God wants you to release in a specific season?

<<Lisa: Usually, I know a song is more than just music by how deeply it ministers to me first. There have been moments when I've written a song, sent a simple voice memo to a friend, and they've called me back in tears. That's when I realize the revelation and the message in the song goes far beyond me - it's God using the music to touch hearts in a way I couldn't have planned.

<<Q: You've experienced longevity in gospel music, yet your sound and message continue to feel fresh and relevant. How do you personally stay creatively inspired while remaining rooted in the foundations of quartet and traditional gospel?

<<For me, it starts with staying connected to God and staying true to who I am. I never want to chase trends. The foundations of quartet and traditional gospel are in my DNA; they've raised, shaped, and grounded me spiritually. At the same time, I stay open to how God is speaking in this generation. I listen, I learn, and I allow life experiences to inform my creativity. When you honor the roots but remain obedient to the voice of God, the sound stays authentic, the message stays relevant, and the music continues to reach people right where they are.

How Will the One Big Beautiful Bill Affect Your Taxes?

<<After a lot of negotiating and back-and-forth between Capitol Hill and the White House, Congress passed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), which locks in many of those rules for good, and it was signed into law by President Trump July 4, 2025.

<<This new law doesn’t just keep the status quo in place, though. Like the name suggests, it is a big bill that not only keeps things the same but also adds plenty of new wrinkles to the tax system.

<<What Is the One Big Beautiful Bill Act? In short, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) is a massive piece of tax legislation (it’s 870 pages long) that makes permanent many of the changes that were first introduced by the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA). While it’s mostly a tax-focused law, it does touch on several areas that go beyond taxes.

<<The bill also increases government spending for things like border security and defense, adds work requirements for able-bodied adults on Medicaid, and creates newborn investment accounts (called Trump accounts) that will automatically invest $1,000 at birth for all U.S. children born from 2025 through the end of 2028.

<<But for now, let’s take a deeper dive into how this new law will affect how you will file your taxes for 2025 and beyond.

<<What Does This Bill Mean for Your Tax Bill? No matter what your filing status is or what tax bracket you find yourself in, you will feel the effects of this bill when you sit down to file your taxes in the spring of 2026.

<<While plenty is staying the same, there are several new tax deductions and some of them—the ones for seniors, car loan interest, tips and overtime—can be claimed even if you take the standard deduction.

<<There’s even a tax break carved out for... let us double-check our notes here...whaling captains and fishers living in Alaska (if you’re a whaling captain in Connecticut, we’re sorry—you’re out of luck).

Let’s dive into all of it.

<<1. The existing tax brackets and rates pretty much stay the same. The government uses something called a progressive income tax system, which basically means the more you earn, the more you’ll gradually pay. There are seven tax brackets, and each tax bracket has a specific tax rate attached to it, ranging from 10% to 37%.

<<If you’re in the 24% tax bracket, for example, that doesn’t mean all income will be taxed at 24%. Instead, some income will be taxed at 10%, the next portion will be taxed at 12%, then whatever’s left will be taxed at 24% (that’s why it’s called progressive).

TARA-LEIGH COBBLE

Interview
"The Bible Recap"

(Tara-Leigh Cobble has the top two books on the current Christian Booksellers' Top 50 List.

"The Bible Recap" is #2 with "The Bible Recap Study Guide" at #1. The Deluxe Edition is also at #14. Her Bible Recap Podcast is also this week's most listened to Christian podcast, recently hitting the Top 10 overall

on Apple Podcasts.

<<Tara-Leigh Cobble never expected to lead a global Bible-reading movement. “I never set out to be a Bible teacher,” she admits. “I realized as an adult that I didn’t actually know the Bible.” That gap in her own life became the seed of the project that now walks people, day by day, through Scripture.

<<At the heart of "The Bible Recap" is a simple structure that readers and listeners can stick with. “The whole process of reading and recapping takes about 20 minutes,” Cobble says. “It’s essentially built by a layman for people of all ages.” She has watched everyone “from 5 years old to 85 years old” complete the reading plan alongside her.

<<Still, she knows the enthusiasm can dip in certain books. Laughing, she recounts a familiar pattern: “Genesis was awesome and Exodus was great, and then we got bogged down a little bit in the tabernacle building… If you can slug through Leviticus, you get through Numbers and you’re like, ‘Oh my word, I miss Genesis.’ That’s usually where people lose steam.” "The Bible Recap," she says, is meant to help people keep going when the text feels dense or distant.

<<By 2026, the project has grown deeper as well as wider. “We’ve added something called "TBR Deep Dive, The Bible Recap Deep Dive,” she shares. “I’m doing a flyover of three-ish chapters every day, but we’re also hitting things that we’d really love to go deeper on—like, ‘What is the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit?’” Each week she and her team “take about five questions and spend about seven or eight minutes diving deeper on those,” adding “another layer of depth to the text for people who’ve done "The Bible Recap" with us for seven years now.”

<<Outside the podcast feed, her workload is just as intense. “One of the things on my plate is my team and I are writing a Bible study on every book of the Bible,” Tara-Leigh says. “That will be 40 studies when we’re all finished. We write them at a pace of four per year, so every three months we’re writing a new Bible study.” Each study aims to capture what listeners already expect from her work: “It’s concise, but it’s not fluffy. It’s in-depth. You’re wrestling with deep stuff.”

<<For Cobble, "The Bible Recap" is ultimately about changing how people see God. “Most, if not all, of our frustrations about God’s actions are rooted in the lie that we deserve something,” she reflects. Instead, she wants readers to encounter a God who is both just and overwhelmingly kind: “God has generously given it all to us. His Word is both kinds of light—the whole earth flooded with the fires of a thousand suns kind of glorious absolute truth, and the individual, step-by-step kind of personal guidance we need.” In every recap, every deep dive, every study, she circles back to the same refrain: “His Word is where the joy is."

SHANNON BREAM,

Fox News Sunday anchor and New York Times best-selling author, shares her newest book, "Nothing is Impossible with God: Eleven Heroes. One God. Endless Lesson in Overcoming"

on CBN's "The 700 Club."

<<"My hope is that this book represents an encouraging reminder of how the Lord is willing and able to bless us more than we can imagine,” Shannon Bream said of "Nothing Is Impossible with God: Eleven Heroes. One God. Endless Lessons in Overcoming."

<<“Each story will help readers find comfort and inspiration, and equip them for the challenges they may face by showing that nothing is impossible with God by your side.”

<<In the book, Bream walks readers through the lives of eleven biblical figures who faced moments that seemed utterly unfixable—Moses at the Red Sea, Joseph in a prison cell, Daniel in a foreign court, Jonah in the depths, and ultimately Jesus on the cross.

<<“God says over and over and over again in the Bible, to people who find themselves in terrible situations, ‘I’ll be with you,’” she explains. “He doesn’t promise to be a magic genie that makes our life easy and beautiful and palatable, and there will be rainbows and unicorns all the time.

<<But this promise is even more important: ‘I’m going to be with you in the good days, the bad days, My presence will help you through.’ And that’s been true for me.”

More Christian Athletes to Cheer on at the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics... Including Atlanta Gold Medalist Elana Meyers Taylor

<<Around the world, Christians live out their calling in many ways, including in athletics. These six Olympic athletes have used their global platform as an opportunity to share the gospel. They are competing at an elite level in their sport and use that as a catalyst for telling others about the ways God has worked in their own lives. In a world where division is everywhere, this year’s Winter Olympics in Italy provide a chance for global Christians to root for their brothers and sisters in Christ.

Atlanta's Elana Meyers Taylor –

Gold Medal WInner in Bobsledding, USA

<<Milan Cortina is the 5th Olympic Games that mom of two Elana Meyers Taylor has competed in. With a new gold, three silver and two bronze medals, Husband, Nic, also competed in the Winter Olympics. They met at a Bible study near the US Olympic Training Center in New York in 2011. Before they got married, the couple got baptized together.

<<Growing up, Taylor played softball and wanted to become a professional softball player. In college, it became the center of her life, yet she struggled with depression and an eating disorder. She played professionally in Michigan after graduating from George Washington University but still felt like something was missing in her life. She started researching different religions and found Jesus. “All of a sudden I just started crying, I was reading the book and it just hit me that Jesus is the way,” she said. “It was so strong and so powerful.”

<<She debuted in the Olympics in 2010, after starting to bobsled in 2007. As she continues in her Olympic career, Taylor said her ultimate aim is to glorify God. “Regardless of whether I win a gold medal or never compete again, I just have to trust that God has a plan for my life and I’m called to be his representative through the sport and outside of the sport,” she said. Her Gold Medal this week ties with speedskater Bonnie Blair for the most career Winter Olympic medals by an American woman. Her sixth medal extends her status as the most decorated Black athlete in Winter Olympic history, a mark she previously reached during the Beijing Games.

<<Meyers Taylor will have another chance at a medal as she joins Kaillie Humphries to pilot a bobsled in the two-woman event, which begins today, Feb. 20 at 12 p.m. ET. Rebroadcast in primetime on NBC

An Olympic Champion’s Journey to

Real Life and Meaning (Part 1 of 2)

By Jim Daly,

President of Focus on the Family

<<Scott Hamilton is an Olympic gold medal figure skater and former national television commentator. His compelling story begins with being adopted and overcoming physical illness as a child to compete in skating, followed by cancer and multiple brain tumors. Reaching the pinnacle of his sport couldn’t fill the hole in Scott’s heart. Not until he found his identity in Christ did he arrive at true peace and joy. He’ll share about his lifelong journey of overcoming as he inspires others with the Gospel.

Scott Hamilton: I was sick, I didn’t grow, I was the smallest and the weakest. I was this, I was that, I was a loser. I’d fallen all these times, I embarrassed myself. All the bad things that happened...but ,what I started to figure out was that, every single one of those failures was a spectacular learning opportunity.

<<John Fuller: Quite the perspective from former Olympic Champion figure skater, Scott Hamilton. As he describes his many years of discouragement before winning a gold medal. And ,that’s a reminder that, in our own disappointments and failures, we shouldn’t give up. We never give up. We can learn and grow in those dark times.

<<Jim: Scott, welcome to Focus on the Family.

<<Scott: Woo! This is, this is unbelievable. I mean, I listen to you guys all the time, and it’s just being in your presence right now is so surreal.

<<Jim: Your life story is incredible. It’s, in my mind, bigger than a gold medal. But, it started with a lot of adversity. You were adopted.

<<Scott: Yeah. I was an oops, I was unintended. It’s always that thing with adoption, right? I know I was unintended, but was I unwanted? And it’s really remarkable that now, all these 65 years later, I really understood that God is in control, and He chose those parents for me. He convicted my birth mother to stay the course and to bring me into the world and put me up for adoption. And, she was brave and wonderful and awesome. I’m gonna be grateful for her bravery and generosity forever. I was adopted by two school teachers from Northwestern Ohio, and they were the perfect parents for me.

<<My parents always told me, from as young as I could understand that I was adopted, they didn’t want it to be stigmatized or anything, they wanted it to be part of my story. I came home one day, “Mom, they’re teasing me about being adopted.” And she goes, “Don’t worry about them. Just say this next time.” "Yeah, I was adopted. My parents actually chose me. Your parents got stuck with whatever came out.”
